⫷ A photoshoot can radically shift your energy ⫸ Here’s how. Two words: Mathilde Deer. 🦌 Honestly, I could end this post right here and just tell you to experience a photoshoot with this incredible human being yourself. But let me give you a little more insight… 😉

Like I recently shared with you, things have been a bit heavy for me lately. On the morning of the shoot, I wasn’t feeling my best. 🫥 The thought even occurred to me to cancel, even though I would not have because I was engaged and all was planned.

I was thinking that I was not in my best shape, nor in a great mood to do a photoshoot. 🥴
But, Mathilde worked her magic 🪄and at the end of the session I was buzzing with energy and feeling mega super happy! 🤩

She has this power to make you feel at ease, to make you laugh, to make you feel confident and your most empowered self. We go from, we might take this shoot a tiny bit too seriously to a complete full-on party! 🥳

What I love the most is that she captures your true essence and outlines all of your facets.💎
She’s got this subtle talent to bring out both your depth and your fun self at the same time.

I also used to think I didn’t know how to “pose.” I often felt silly and ridiculous in some poses, and had no clue what to do with my arms! 🤷‍♀️

But with Mathilde’s guidance, all of that disappears, and you find the poses that feel truly YOU.🥰

⫷ From FOMO to JOMO ⫸ Recently, a lot of people asked me if they were going to see me at Mystic Creatures Festival 2024 , and while I felt flattered they wanted to have me around, it kept reminding me that I was not going to be there. I felt a huge wave of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) rising up, and I started to question my choice of leaving Berlin in the first place!

I was in a festival flow, in Berlin with my car, could have easily found a ticket, and I decided to leave and go back to France.

💭 I remembered how amazing this festival was at its first edition, so I bet this year, there are going to be lots of improvements, and it might be even better!
My lovely .music told me: “In the end, it’s just a party, and there will be others.”

This simple phrase hit me immediately as a wake-up call.
☎️ This is so true! It’s “just” a party, even though it’s going to be mind-blowing (the resistant mind still talking 😅
)
🙏 Thank you Alena for helping me remember the reasons why I left Berlin and decided to come home:

👉I have been away touring for my gigs and for Traction Shows for 6 weeks
👉I was really tired and even started to feel sick
👉 I was socially exhausted
👉I had no money left in my account
👉 I missed my pony and my cats, and they need me to be present once in a while
👉 I really need to find new sources of income
👉 I have to find another gem for my Parisian flat

In other words, I need to sort my life out! 🤪

No matter how amazing a festival can be, it’s never worth going when you are not truly listening to your body and mental health needs 💞

🥰 I’m now very happy with my choice. Happy to miss out because I enjoy the quiet, the silence, and my animals’ company. I don’t need to talk. Welcome to JOMO (Joy of Missing Out)

I can take the time to breathe, do some yoga, walk in the woods, slow down, and also take care of all the things I need to get done!

My introverted self is feeling listened to, taken care of, and my whole self can truly recharge from the intensity of the last few weeks. And don’t get me wrong, I love “intense”! 😂 But it’s always a matter of balance.

Do you easily stop when you need to? 😉

🤍 Every single little heart, comment & reposts on Soundcloud or share on social media counts.

Somehow, for my first set in this big festival, I expected it to be more visible & successful in number of plays, likes etc.

🤕 In the end was it the set that I wanted to be seen? or myself? 🪞
Perhaps, it went through the algorithm mystery, I may have not posted it on the best day or the best time. But does it really matter?

It's funny how social media metrics have shaped our minds. And even though I know the tricks very well, I don't always escape from it. And I can fall into the trap of measuring my own value as a music artist or the quality of my set based on how many plays and how many likes he got. Crazy! 😱

I know deep down that it is not true and it's only the story I tell myself.

I discovered amazing producers who only had 200 followers, sometimes less on Soundcloud, not even an instagram account, and their music blew my mind. They don't even know about it unless I leave a comment or send them a private message. 😉

😵‍ When I was playing this set, I realized how much pressure I put on myself to deliver a beautiful set, at the level of the artists who play at this festival. I wanted to be professional also. My perfectionnism pushes me to do so and be that way. And I believe it's a quality and it shows professionalism in addition to the fact that I wish to honor the trust I have been put into to take people on a musical journey and hold a dancefloor.

And at the same time, this pressure and perfectionism can deter me from the WHY I decided to start playing.

❓I wanted to play music behind the decks, in order to give back.

🌀 Give back to what music gave me : breathtaking moments of deep connection, where I felt my heart crack open and fall into an unlimited feeling of blissful gratitude. Music healed me.

I don’t pretend I can heal people. But Music can. Because it enables us to touch deep feelings within ourselves.

🥳 The second reason I wanted to play was to simply share a good time with people on a dance floor, have fun, bring out the joy, the smiles, the happiness. Even with deep & sometimes dark sounds.

🛸 This set was a portal to help me remember my intentions.
And I am grateful for this lesson.

It helped me detach from the pressure I can put on my shoulders a lot of times, or the story I can tell myself, as if I don’t get many likes, I’m not worthy. This is only the story of a wounded child & ego.

This set is for you 😘
And if it touches you in your heart.
It’s enough and I’m complete. 🩵

⫷ Bucht Der Traümer ⫸ Another dream come true… 💭 Bucht der Traeumer Festival has been on my top list of the festivals I have always wanted to play at and I’m really happy and excited that I have been trusted to open the Mirage Open Air Stage on Sunday 18th from 2pm to 4pm.🤗💜

I’m really honored and excited to play for the first time at this beautiful festival located in a magical forest. This one is a special one to my heart 🥲

⫷ My dual role as a DJ and an Ocean Artivist ⫸ Hey tribe! 🌊🎧I’m OrKatz, and I’m excited to share a bit about my journey and passions with you.

For those who don’t know me yet, I’m not just a DJ bringing beats to the dance floor, but also an avid ocean artivist whose purpose is to free orcas & dolphins, and protect our beautiful oceans and the amazing creatures that inhabit them.

🎶 As a DJ, music is my heartbeat. It’s the universal language that brings us all together, creates unforgettable memories, and inspires me in so many ways. Whether it’s through Dj sets, new mixtapes, or discovering fresh tunes, I love sharing my musical journey with you all.

Music vibrations are everything in my life and my soul is very deeply touched and connected to the complex language of orcas, dolphins & whales.

Their sounds impact me in such a strong way and because I am a strong believer of their healing powers, I’ve decided to record their sounds and share their vibrations through my music (into Dj sets & future tracks and throughout a growing side project).

It came organically that on the other side of the spectrum, I’m deeply committed to ocean conservation.

🌊 Our oceans are the lungs of our planet, teeming with life and wonder. Sadly, they’re also under threat from pollution, climate change, and overfishing. That’s why I dedicate my time and voice to advocating for the protection of our marine nature and the majestic cetaceans that call them home. 🐋

These two worlds are my driving force and where I want to put all my focus and energy. Each beat I drop and each water I dive into fuels my passion to make a positive impact. 🌍💙

⫷ Fusion Feedback ⫸ 🚀 Fusion is by far one of my favorite festivals and feeling so grateful for such a crazy adventure once again.

🤪 Fusion is also one of the biggest, 80 000 people, which can feel overwhelming and overstimulating at times but it’s also what creates the insane electric energy of the festival.

🎶I love going back every year, discovering new artists or listening to the ones I know and who put all their hearts into offering something even more special because, hey, it’s Fusion!

🌀On the contrary of last year, where I was with a group of friends but very often a solo rider, I decided this year that I wished to live more of a group experience with my friends and it’s what we did!

💎For the first time, my friend Luçïd was presenting his first new live, without any doubt my highlight. I am so proud of him! And his live was a big emotional release to me! My other friend soy also played for the first time at Seebuhne and his groovy set slapped me in the face! Waouh!!

Matildoutz played for the second time at The Fer à Coudre and her set literally put everyone on fire! Same for my other friend .ulfur_sound , who played out of the box, also for the first time.

🥲 I can say that seeing my friends grow and reach a certain level of recognition for all the hard work and passion for music they put in throughout the years is to me so rewarding and inspiring!

💜 I love how our passion for music created bonds for life, how music makes us grow as human beings and how creative we become thanks to music.

🙏 Thank you for bringing so much good music, mind blowing art & scenography, so creative performances and disruptive thinking into our lives.

😅 I would clearly need more than 2200 signs to do proper feedback on Fusion!

⫷ NEW SET ONLINE "The N*** Tea Party" !! ⫸ 🫖 Each gig is different. It’s not every time that you feel a strong connection with the audience to the point where you feel as ONE. But this night was one of those special times, and what a blast it was! 🤩

The energy was on fire 🔥 and for that moment suspended in time, we were highly interconnected. 🌀

⫷ Taking Care ⫸ When I saw this little guy 🐟, my heart opened wide 💖Seeing this tiny sea creature looking straight at me made my heart melt 🌊💕. Was he scared of me? To him, I must seem like a giant 👣 Did he feel safe?

I couldn’t really know. But what I do know is how I felt. I had a strong, maternal desire to care for him 🤱—by not staying too long and giving him space 🌌, by taking care of the ocean and its inhabitants 🐠🐬 because that’s what matters most to me right now: being of service to the Ocean, out of love 🌊❤️, in order to co-create a world of peace and harmony 🌍☮️

It’s not the first time a fish has sparked this feeling within me, and it is so special 🐠✨

Humans can’t live long without a healthy ocean 🌊. This fact motivates me, as does humankind’s conscious survival 🌱🌎 And, if I’m honest, I want to create a meaningful life 🌟

The good news is that many of us share this intention, and together we can bring much care to the world, no matter what we choose to protect and nurture🤝There are many battles to fight ⚔️

I feel a strong calling, a sense of urgency to start taking more actions 📢. It’s a bit overwhelming and vertiginous , but my motivation is higher than ever 💪✨

My inner compass is easy to interpret: when I feel FEAR 😨 or JOY 😊, I know that’s where I should head.

I am so grateful for each fish that looks me in the eye 🐠👀, bringing kindness, compassion, and love to my heart 💓These encounters help my heart open even more 💗

The world is slightly chaotic right now, but I hope you will be moved by this little black cutie 🐟✨

If you got the chance, would you swim with whale sharks? 🐋🦈

🤿 Swimming with whalesharks is one of the most rewarding experience you can have in the ocean.

💙 They are peaceful gentle giants…
It’s not until you enter in their world that you truly appreciate their size and humbling nature.
👁️

🦈 Whale sharks are a slow-moving, filter-feeding carpet shark and the largest known extant fish species. The largest confirmed individual had a length of 18.8 m. This one was around 6 meters.

🌀 Swimming slowly, carefully and mindfully, he let me swim next to him with such a calm energy that I felt immediately tuned to the vibration of this young male.

🙌 I felt in awe, so grateful that such a wild animal let me in his space with so much openness.

Making eye contact with these sea creatures was very humbling and it will forever be engraved in my heart.

I experienced this in La Paz with .mexico and along .scuba , and 🫠. I was concerned about not going for a touristic tour where 20 people are thrown into the water around 1 whale shark for 5 min. 🤯

👩‍✈️In La Paz, it’s strictly regulated. Only 2 boats are allowed to be in the area where whale sharks come to feed. 30 min max is allowed per whale and we were 2 groups of 3 and 4 with him. So I felt consciously ok to swim with these 2 males in these conditions as it’s very important to not stress them and respect their space. Also if they were bothered they would swim away very quickly so I believe that if one’s stay it’s that our presence is ok.

👁️ This experience invites me even more to study marine life and raise awareness about the importance of protecting it 🥰

⫷ What makes you feel alive? ⫸ Are you aware of the things that light up your being? And do you use them as ressources to recharge and bring energy into your body and nourishment to your soul. ⭐

💦 One of the most important and efficient to me, music apart, is water. Water has this incredible power of relaxing me and removing any form of stress within a second.

📸 These photos have been taken after an ocean bath. Right before going into the water I was feeling a bit nervous. As I was seeing these turquoise clear water, I felt impatient like a kiddo. I could not wait any more. I had to get into the water and as soon as I was inside it, I felt relaxed, at peace, regenerated, happy, playful.

🎧 Whether I'm immersed in the sea or the ocean, in a river or a lake, I feel happy in water. I love the silence in the underwater world but also all sorts of sounds that water produces.

There's something undeniably magical about the soothing rhythm of water. Whether it's the calming lull of waves crashing against the shore or the soft patter of raindrops on a window, a waterfall cascading, bubbling rivers, each moment spent in its presence feels like a gift to my mind, body, and soul leaving me feeling centered and at peace.

🌳 I recently found out that water has the power to put your energies in a neutral position. In other words, water brings down what is going over the top, too much (anger, impatience, sadness, overwhelmedness and brings up what is lacking (energy, joy, happiness, levels of happiness hormones, feeling of being content and at peace)

🩻 When I’m out of the water, in the countryside or in cities, I sometimes forget how recharging is water. But as soon, I am in it, water reminds me of its restorative powers.

⫷ 𝕎𝕖 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕟𝕤𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 𝕠𝕟 𝔼𝕒𝕣𝕥𝕙 ⫸ 3 years from now, my dad passed away. And what a transformative journey! Death is a powerful rite of passage and even though it is god damn painful, it is also an intense booster for growth and puts life in perspective to make the most of it, appreciate its beauty, and realize how precious it is.

Losing a parent has left me with a physical sensation of numbness that I never experienced before. The year before, I lost my father in law, my best friend, and I hold space for 3 friends who lost their mum or dad. I understood they were preparing me for my dad. It was a lot to take in a short time but like everything in life, it is impermanent and my inner light switched on again.

My vision on life & death, as well as all the gifts & guidances that I received after his passing, helped me heal fast and I can say now that I fully accepted my father’s death, even if I have my moments and miss him sometimes, and the simple moments that I used to enjoy a lot, like drinking rose & eating oysters by the sea, lighting up the fireplace in winter, smelling the scent of his cigar & hearing the sound of the whisky being poured in his glass while I’m peeling a tangerine.

Sufferness is created by the attachment to the physical form.
So I don’t focus too much on the past. I prefer telepathy & dreams to keep the communication alive.

My dad’s departure has been the most powerful trigger of a deep self-transformation.
Although another reality is that I felt like I was jumping into the void without a parachute. It created insecurities, mostly financial but life taught me we are never alone, and we can receive help in the most unexpected ways!

Insecurities made me work harder. And passions made me engage myself in so many missions for the world, the ocean, the forest, indigenous tribes, women empowerment, conscious expansion, burning myself out 3 times a year, leading me to neglect relationships with my family and friends.

Did I learn the lesson then?
I sometimes feel that not.
Now is maybe a time for me to do less, be more.
Create. Make space. Refresh. Dedicate more time to my own dreams, like music & my tribe.
At least finding a better balance between making the most of life, regenerating & spend quality time with people I love.

After all, ''the question is not whether there is life after death'' taught Christiane Singer, but whether we want to live as the living dead, or enter death alive.”
