We are nearing the end of our open window of time/weather that we can place our working barn cats.

We have Working Barn Cats available at the shelter. These are adoptable at no charge to you! They are already spayed or neutered and up to date on their shots and rabies vaccine. We require these cats to go in at least pairs.

The Working Barn Cats are FERAL! They will not be loving, snuggly, or want to be picked up. Please contact the shelter if you are looking for a Working Barn Cat at 906-632-2519.

Reminder to visit participating Downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan stores along Ashmun and Portage Ave. this Friday and Saturday for annual sidewalk sales! Businesses will be setup on sidewalk space in front of their stores with great deals and specials that you don't want to miss. As previously announced, road closures are not taking place due to lack of sponsors needed to fund the festival side of the weekend. There are still several exciting events taking place throughout the weekend including "Friday Nights at Dusk", the Twin Sault Cruisers Car Show, and the inaugural Sault Ste. Marie Fire Truck Pull!

📣 📣 📣 MUSIC IN THE PARK ANNOUNCEMENT:

Due to illness, Melissa Lee Zenker is unable to perform this week. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her next year.

In her place, we are excited to announce local performer, Tyler Dettloff to the line-up. Tyler is a musician and poet from Gnoozhekaaning Bay Mills, MI. His songwriting draws upon folk, blues, country, and punk influences.

He currently teaches English Composition and Native American Literature at LSSU. His sophomore LP “Dynamite Honey: Northern Folk & Blues” was released by Lost Dog Records and his debut poetry chapbook “Belly-up Rosehip: a Tongue Blue with Mud Songs” was published by Swimming with Elephants Publications. His poetry has been featured in River Heron Review, Frontier Poetry, The Rumpus, Heartwood, Jelly Bucket, Cutthroat, and elsewhere.

Join us for a great night of music at the Soo Locks Park this Wednesday at 7 pm. 🎵 🎶

Reminder that this Friday, July 21st, Downtown Sault Ste. Marie along with event sponsor, Nicolet Bank, proudly bring you the first of six free movie nights!

Head downtown for dinner and shopping and then grab your blankets and lawn chairs and head to the north-east lawn (back side) of City Hall (225 E. Portage Ave.) for Super Mario Bros. We have set an approximate start time of 9:30 pm.

Chippewa County Sunrise Rotary Club will be on-site selling popcorn/snacks. You don’t want to miss out!
