💔 It is with great sadness that we are having to shut up shop at The Conscious Party Box - with the cost of living crisis & the likes of amazon we are having to admit that we cannot compete. We have had a wonderful time, met some fabulous people and have loved showing you that it is totally possible to go plastic-free for your kids parties. We really hope that even if you haven’t bought from us that we have made you think about your choices when it comes to celebrating.

We will be selling our stock off so if you are looking for stocking fillers or any other kids party bits & bobs then everything is 50% off (discount already applied) on the website.

🌊 Never a truer word spoken. Let’s try and reduce the plastic we need to consume. There is an alternative 99% of the time. Lets leave the plastic for tat 1% of the time when we really need it. We donate to with each kit purchased so by going when you celebrating you are also helping our oceans 💙

🍭 Party bag tip! Big pot of sweets combined with our glassine bags make the perfect party bag filler (glassine is compostable which makes it a pretty special product)! They can be found in our “build your own party box” section 💕 a simple swap instead of all those individual plastic bags of sweets!

Also, pretty delicious if you are in charge of packing bags 😉

🎉 It was one of The Conscious Party Box family birthdays last weekend! We did it at home, it was so calm and easy - not sure how many more years I’ll get away with the home lego/trampoline party but this year it was fab.

It’s not often I get to use all the party gear for AN ACTUAL PARTY but I can give you another honest review from a mum trying to keep a group of 6 year olds and siblings happy.

The headline is that IT WAS FAB!

⭐️1. The food boxes were absolutely brilliant for them all, a burger, some Pringles and veg sticks filled it so nicely and there was not a single spillage, they could walk around, walk out to the garden without a single precariously held plate in sight. So tick for food boxes!
⭐️2. Cups, straws and stickers worked so great, especially in the covid/bug life we are currently living with. Yes, paper straws Goa. Bit soggy, but they lasted long enough for juice to be slurped up happily.
⭐️3. Decorations. BRILLIANT! Especially the new streamers we will be stocking (as soon as I list them), they fill the space so well. Bit of a pain to put away after but doable - or recyclable if it’s just too much for you.
⭐️4. Activity sheets went down so well, all the kids used them and to be honest they make lunch even calmer as it was a 2nd level of distraction from shouting. They were super engaged with it.
⭐️5. Party bag fillers were seedboms and a cotton twist kits - all went down well!

So basically, it was stress free and super organised so I would highly recommend it! We did have a timetable (yep, extra) so if that is something you would find helpful then drop your most used emoji in the comments and I’ll send it over!

Climate change may seem daunting, but we'll never solve it if we don't try. Humans (and especially moms!) are capable of amazing things. And we already have most of the solutions we need. So let's come together and get this done!

One week until school goes back. I’m a gaggle of emotions about it. On the one hand I am craving the structure and getting back to work, but goodness, I’m also going to miss my kidlets. We’ve had a really lovely holidays (with a good sprinkle of me also hiding in the toilet trying to summon Mary Poppins too). It’s Toby’s first year of full time school and it’s a relief but it’s also making my eyes watery.

It’s around this time that I start stocking my freezer/fridge with things to help keep our lunchboxes plastic-free. I like to make up 3 different bliss ball flavours and then they don’t get bored with flavours and therefore eat the little protein-packed health bombs. Generally I do a cookie-dough, a chocolate and a coconut/fruit one. Then, through the term, I make a batch every fortnight or so to keep the rotation going. I’m going to do up a few videos of my recipes in the next few days. What’s your fave plastic-free lunchbox hack? 🍏

The countdown to the Easter holiday's has begun and chocolate fever is rising! Egg hunts are being discussed and outdoor plans are being hopefully made. Here at The Conscious Party Box we are all too aware of how challenging it can be to entertain the children during the longer school holidays.

🐯I love seeing all our wraps (love the zebra and tiger jungle themed ones!), they add a touch of something special to your party table, each child feels super special as they’re all named and it saves any confusion with who’s having what on the day because it’s already sorted!

🎉 We love the tradition of getting the party decorations out! I (Pip) have 3 kids and so whoever isn’t the birthday person gets to stay downstairs a bit longer & decorate the kitchen - it’s Christmas levels of excitement over here!

🌈Our paper bunting is super special because it is homemade by our very own Rachel using FSC certified card along with a length of lovely coloured raffia. All reusable or recyclable. Let the kids loose on the flags and personalise it to suit you! The crafting opportunities are strong here. Or keep it clean, pack and reuse for lots of different occasions. All of our decoration kits come with 20 bunting flags and a 5m length of raffia so covers a lot of decoration space, filling it with colour.

As always! Emily Ehlers (Em)] has some fab ideas for plastic-free lunchboxes! Save for party food ideas ❤️

One of the hardest elements of plastic-free parenting: the dreaded lunchbox!!! So, can I be honest in a controversial way? I’ve never seen Star Wars. Any of them. Also... it seems to be slightly taboo to admit that going plastic-free IS harder. More rewarding? Sure. Satisfying, living aligned with your values? Absolutely! But, harder too. It takes organisation and preparation (2 things that my ADHD brain has to really bulk up to wrestle with!). But it’s doable. So, here are 2 ways I make it easier:

1️⃣ I bulk cook/prep. On Sundays I will make the quiche, boil the eggs, pre-make the weekly thermos-meal (generally a pasta sauce with HEAPS of veggies & lentils smuggled inside), I cut the veg, I make the muffins. It’s really only the fruit I do on the morning of, because while some people like green apples and others like red apples not many people like brown apples. Unless they’re chocolate apples, obviously.

2️⃣ I remember that the potential of “me” is always better when it’s a “we”. I team up. I used to team up with 3 other plastic-free parents and we would each make a mass set of bliss balls - each a different flavour. Then we’d divide them up into jars and share them out (I whacked mine in the freezer). Then your kids get a choice of flavour (which they pick the night before so I can pack it and then let defrost in the fridge), they don’t get bored with the same thing every day and you don’t have to make a million different flavours. Just one, once a month. Plus, community.
