I will never get over this incredible surprise last dance that our team pulled off for Ashley & Anton! We filled this gazebo with rose petals and candles, the video + photo team set up special lighting to capture the moment and the DJ (@bsiow.productions) stayed late to play their song … it was a team effort and it was such a magical moment 🤍

Having an outdoor reception? I’m sure you have a rain contingency plan with your venue but something people always forget about is the wind! Here are a few things to consider:
- Use a heavy duty easel for signage and attach the sign to the stand if possible. This should reduce the risk of your signs being pushed over by the wind. Alternatively, try to find a spot for the sign that is exposed to less wind.
- Having place cards? Think of ways to add weight so they don’t blow away or tuck them under another item.
- Make sure any tall table decor is bottom heavy instead of top heavy!
- If you don’t have weighted table decor on cocktail tables, use double sided tape or clips to keep your linens in place.

Instead of spending SO much time trying to get the smoke off of your hurricane vases with hot water and soap, just use a little rubbing alcohol on a cloth or cleaning rag and wipe that residue right off!

If you dream of having a destination wedding but the idea of planning it scares the s*** out of you then you’ve landed in the right place.
Of course, our first tip is to hire a planning team but if that isn’t in the cards, then this is where we would start:
• First… choose your location & venue! Typically destination resorts have a big range of the number of guests they can accommodate. Having an idea of your guest count will determine your price range and sometimes the more guests you have results in more/better incentives (free nights or extra amenities) which leads me to the next point…
• Put together a list of people that you plan to invite. You can typically expect 50-60% of that list will make the trip depending on how far it is and how much notice you give them. It’s best to give your guests at least 9-12 months notice with destination weddings.
• Request a list of preferred vendors from your venue for photographers, entertainment, florists, decorators etc. You can also look at the location of the venue / resort on instagram (not the page but the tagged location) and look at the vendors tagged in their posts!
• Have a mood board or Pinterest page ready to share with your florist and decorator so they can give you recommendations for flowers in season for that location as well as the decor they offer that matches your style. It’s difficult when you can’t visit the showroom but they do these events all the time so you can usually trust their recommendation!
• Last tip… be flexible. There’s only so much you can do from home. Things don’t always go to plan but at the end of the day you’re there with your person and closest friends and family. It doesn’t get much better than a vacation with all of your favorite people!
