🌿 Protect Tree Kangaroos! 🦘🌳

These unique tree-climbing macropods from Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Australia are facing severe threats from habitat loss and hunting, pushing several species toward extinction.

With fewer than 50 Wondiwoi tree kangaroos left and others experiencing drastic population declines, urgent conservation efforts are needed! Support sustainable forestry, raise awareness, and protect natural habitats to help save these incredible animals. 🌍🌱

Every effort counts!

🌿 Animal Spotlight: The Northern Common Cuscus 🌿

Meet the Northern Common Cuscus (Phalanger orientalis)—a mystical marsupial from the forests of Papua New Guinea and nearby islands! 🦥✨ This nocturnal tree-dweller has a thick, woolly coat and large eyes, making it perfectly adapted for life in the canopy.

🌏 Habitat & Lifestyle

Living in rainforests, plantations, and even village gardens, this arboreal herbivore thrives on leaves, fruits, and flowers. It plays a key role in forest regeneration by spreading seeds!

❤️ Unique Marsupial Motherhood

Females give birth to tiny joeys after just 13 days of pregnancy! The young stay in the mother’s pouch, developing in safety before emerging into the world.

✅ Least Concern, but Vulnerable!

Though not currently endangered, deforestation and hunting threaten their numbers. Conservation efforts are crucial to ensure their survival in PNG’s lush forests.
