Empowering Our Team Through Capacity Building! 🌿

At the Unitech Rainforest Habitat, we believe that our greatest asset is our people. As part of our ongoing commitment to staff capacity building, we continue to upskill our team by supporting them to acquire relevant professional training.

Recently, our staff Mr. Oscar Monias and Mr. Andrew Bro successfully completed a Purchasing & Inventory Management training short course offered by Unitech Development & Consutancy Ltd. An achievement made possible through the support of the Habitat’s management and Unitech Enterprises Limited.

We’re proud of our staff’s dedication to learning and growth, and we look forward to seeing them apply their new knowledge to strengthen our operations and contribute to the success of the organization.

The Unitech Rainforest Habitat continues to play an active role in supporting student research projects in partnership with the School of Forestry, PNG University of Technology.

This year, we were proud to support the research project by Gideon Ketefa, titled:
🕒 “Gradient Precipitation Effects on Decomposition across Habitat Types in Papua New Guinea's Tropical Forests” — supervised by Dr. Jimmy Moses and Mr. Olo Gebia.

🌿 Crocodile Exhibit Project Update 🐊

The Unitech Rainforest Habitat has begun work on the first of our two planned crocodile display enclosures. Foundational works are already in progress, and we are aiming to complete this enclosure by November 2025.

These enclosures will not only ensure the safety and welfare of our five newly donated crocodiles but will also provide valuable educational and conservation opportunities for visitors, students, and the wider community.

We are still seeking sponsorship support to complete the second enclosure. If you are a business, NGO, or partner organization interested in supporting conservation, education, and community engagement, we would love to hear from you. 🌍
