From 20th to 22nd November 2025, we had the honour of hosting the Port Moresby Nature Park team at the Unitech Rainforest Habitat. Conservation Manager Mr. Francis Gundu and CEO Mr. Johnpaul Houston joined us for a two-day engagement, facilitating hands-on sessions with our Zoo staff.

During the visit, Mr. Gundu delivered a highly insightful and practical session with our team, sharing his extensive experience in wildlife management, animal welfare, and conservation practices. His guidance provided our staff with new approaches and strengthened our understanding of best-practice standards within the zoo and conservation sector.

This collaboration marks an exciting first step in strengthening our partnership with Port Moresby Nature Park. We look forward to continued knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and joint conservation initiatives.

The Unitech Rainforest Habitat proudly donated two Matschie’s tree-kangaroos — Boi Boi and Shasa — to support Nature Park’s breeding program and ongoing species conservation efforts.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Francis Gundu and CEO Mr. Johnpaul Houston for their leadership and commitment. We’re excited for what the future holds!

Over the weekend, we were delighted to host the Taraka Adventurers and the Buimo SDA Youths at the Rainforest Habitat Zoo. Their energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm made the visit truly special.

So far in 2025, we’ve welcomed:

Empowering Our Team Through Capacity Building! 🌿

At the Unitech Rainforest Habitat, we believe that our greatest asset is our people. As part of our ongoing commitment to staff capacity building, we continue to upskill our team by supporting them to acquire relevant professional training.

Recently, our staff Mr. Oscar Monias and Mr. Andrew Bro successfully completed a Purchasing & Inventory Management training short course offered by Unitech Development & Consutancy Ltd. An achievement made possible through the support of the Habitat’s management and Unitech Enterprises Limited.

We’re proud of our staff’s dedication to learning and growth, and we look forward to seeing them apply their new knowledge to strengthen our operations and contribute to the success of the organization.
