Let’s talk scaling. It may be hard to envision having a team of people working for you when you’re first starting out. I was there, fear of where are these people going to come from, and how am I going to pay them? Having a team is so vital in event design as you can not do it alone. I mean you can, but I wouldn’t suggest it. Even if it’s a styled shoot you want to have 2-3 sets of hands assisting you so that you can truly style; making sure the chars are flush, linen is pressed, flatware is in order. These things show up on pictures. Never cut corners on staff to save a few dollars, it will cost you in the end. Photography Terrie.images

As an event designer, it’s important to be well-versed in all areas of design. From the stationery, and the bridal gown, to the cake, reception, or tablescape. In cases where you are not learned, get training, higher a coach, or get a mentor. I know it may be cliché, but investing in yourself is truly the best investment in entrepreneurship. So you’re tired of budget brides reaching out to you for a quote, and you’re tired of it. I get it. The best thing and most effective business move you can make is to stop putting out budget work. You know, the none professional images you took from your iPhone because the client didn’t hire an actual photographer. The ones with the DIY centerpieces. The ones with the Amazon linen that your client insisted on you using so she can save a buck got them to you too late, so they are filled with lines and creases. Yes, those images. You have to let them go! Delete them now!
