VALENTINE’S PLATTERS*

I will be doing Valentine’s platters on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 12/13/14 February. All platters will have a red theme and will be decorated with a red rose.

• If red roses are not available then another colour rose will be used.

• Contents may vary according to availability.

• Alcohol shown is purely to show how the consumers can add to the platter. It would be illegal for me to include alcohol.

• The amount of food will vary according to the number of people booked and paid for.

• 50% deposit required at time of ordering with the remainder paid upon collection. (Delivery at extra cost and by arrangement.)

• Please advise of any allergies or dietary requirements when you place your order.

I’m sorry I’m quiet on this page at present. Sadly 4 bereavements in 21 months and business to sort on the last 2 have caught up with me, I’m doing minimal work at present. New Year, new start.

A big thank you to all who have liked this page recently.

If you are interested in one platter or enough to feed 80, I can help. I try to make the platters different and interesting and can add some warm food, such as a baked Camembert or Brie, drizzled with honey and rosemary and things for dipping. Another dish I’m doing is chorizo cooked in garlic, red wine and honey.

I can also provide hot meals for people to collect on their way home from work: such as thick, creamy soup, beef in red wine, lasagne, cottage pie, quiche, all with appropriate side dishes.

Some tapas dishes, melted Camembert topped with honey and nuts, Thai chicken on mini poppadoms filled with mango chutney and fresh coriander, chorizo with garlic, red wine and honey and home made cheese and sun dried tomato chutney. I served it at a friends. It was delicious. This is an example of food that can be done on platters.

I’ve taken the dog biscuit post down as apparently you need to complete a course and have a special certificate to sell dog biscuits. 🙄 I’ve now got lots of dog biscuits!

I’m excited! Tomorrow Amazon are delivering bone shaped biscuit cutters and I will make dog biscuits. I don’t have a dog, but I will test them on a lovely old canine lady.

All food has to be safe for us to eat, so no need to worry about about children getting hold of them.

Why not get your order in to avoid disappointment. I’ll pack them in pretty packaging to leave under the tree for Fido.

Truly delicious; the soup is roasted tomato and red pepper, nice and thick and very tasty. The roll is cheddar and onion, the little seeds are Nigella (aka onion) seeds. Of course it has to be real butter. The roll is big, I failed and could only eat half. I’ll have the other half with cheese and homemade runner bean chutney this evening.

If you fancy homemade soup and bread, I can have it ready for you to collect on your way home from work. If tomato and red pepper is not your thing, perhaps a hearty vegetable or leek and potato would be your preference. If you like something more exotic, I do a lovely spicy sweet potato and carrot with chillies and coconut milk, very warming on a cold autumn evening.

This is a 2 lb loaf cake size ginger cheesecake. I can do cheesecakes in different sizes; individual in tubs as part of a platter meal or afternoon tea. The 2 lb loaf cake size below would be £17 and an 8” round cheesecake is £20.

I can do virtually any flavour, some particularly popular cheesecakes are Maltesers, Turkish delight, Oreo or Baileys. My favourite is definitely the Baileys. Of course good old favourites such as white chocolate and raspberry, strawberry or blueberry.

I can cater for any event. These are some photos of a dinner party I catered for, it was actually 7 courses! Here you have:

Starter: scallops, served on black pudding on a minted pea purée, with crispy bacon.

Main course: fillet steak, served on a leek and Parmesan risotto and side salad.

Dessert: a palette refreshing mango mousse.
