The history of Della Sound Sound Ltd.
24 July 1991: The inspiration for Della Soul derived from the historic visit of Nelson Mandela to Jamaica.
1992 saw the birth of Della Soul at Duhaney Park, Kingston 20, a place called Brooke Valley. Della Soul has a good relationship with and appreciates the support that its community and the surrounding communities have given over the years.
Oriel Campbell, Robert ‘Diamond Finger’ (now a selector for the legendary Stone Love), Boxer George, Perma D, Barry G and Gartie controlled Della’s small sound system – crown amps, turntables and one column.
By 1996 the sound was no longer playing out as a collective with only small parties being played by individuals.
