January 25, 1988: Princess Diana wore a white silk dress with a navy and white striped scarf, and matching straw hat while arriving at Sydney Harbour, giving sailor chic vibes.

The outfit was designed by one of her good friends and fashion favorite, Catherine Walker.

Like mother, like sons.

As seen in this 1984 photograph by , Diana visited a Red Cross centre to lend a hand. On January 7, 2005, Prince William and Prince Harry also provided support to the Red Cross by helping to send aid parcels to tsunami victims.

Both sons have said that their mother’s inspiration and influence is a driving force in their charitable efforts.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the to you and your loved ones.

On December 25, 1994: Princess Diana and Prince William attend the Christmas Day Service in Sandringham.

This is perhaps one of the most cherished Royal Family traditions - the annual walk from their Christmas celebrations at Sandringham House in Norfolk to the nearby St. Mary Magdalene Church for the Christmas morning service.

Following church, the Royals return to the estate for a traditional Christmas lunch of roast turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry, bread sauces and Christmas pudding, and then tune in to the annual televised address.

Like any family, the Royals have many of their own Christmas traditions.

And there’s one tradition that Prince George helps keep alive, inspired by his late grandmother, Princess Diana.

Diana was known for being something of a prankster and loved to give cheeky holiday presents - one notable gift being fake dog poo for Harry.

Having seemingly inherited Diana’s mischievous sense of humour, Prince George once reportedly wanted to trick Queen Elizabeth with the same gift!

On December 2, 1993: Princess Diana greeted British icons such as David Bowie, David Putnam, George Michael and Mick Hucknall backstage at the Concert of Hope benefit concert for World AIDS Day. The concert was created by George Michael to raise awareness and funds for the disease and was televised worldwide.

Like George, Diana was a champion of HIV/AIDS awareness and a key figure in changing public perceptions of the disease. She was Britain’s Patron of the National AIDS Trust.

Princess Diana served as President of Dr. Barnardo’s Charity, an organization established to safeguard vulnerable children and young adults.

Here, she visits the charity in November 1984 as her first public outing after the birth of Prince Harry.

Diana was a patron to more than 100 charities in her life and was known to be a prodigious fundraiser.

Although she had a tumultuous relationship with the media, she was able to harness their attention to raise
awareness and funds for a number of philanthropic causes.
