This weekend is Alabama Freestyle and Greco State Championship!!
Huntingdon is not only hosting the tournament, but they're hosting a camp before!
This tournament qualifies the HS Boys and Girls for Fargo. Younger kids also find placement on national dual teams.

As you look at the Youth and High School State Tournaments, pay attention to the kids who are wrestling Freestyle and Greco during the off-season.
They won't be hard to miss; they are the ones on the podium!

River Rats Wrestling Club will start Freestyle training March 1st.
We will practice 2 days a week.
Tuesday and Thursday 530-730p and occasional weekends if interested.
If By chance, we have a large number of kids signed up (youth and high school), we will divide kids into different days. If needed, Monday and Wednesday 530-730p.

With the season winding down, do you find yourself wanting more mat time/matches?
Well, good, because after HS season, the girl's wrestling will pick up. Most of USA Wrestling tournaments will have a girls division. Including tournaments like Fargo, National Duals, and Super 32.

The Florida High School Athletic Association votes yes to sanction girls wrestling in Florida beginning in the 2021-22 season. Florida becomes the 24th state to sanction.

This is the first compilation of AHSAA Girls Divisions that we have so far. COACHES! Please add your tournaments to this list and make corrections where needed . All of these tournaments, with the exception of Girls State, are boys and girls. We need more tournaments in the northern half of the state so let us know where they are!!

As a fan/Coach I love watching a come back story. Yasmine Oliveira avenged her loss at Battle of Bama. She has been busting her butt and training hard with Warrior Wrestling Club . Alabama please say hello to the Eldridge girls 🤼‍♀️! Jade Eldridge 12th grade Juliana Eldridge 6th grade. Jade has been training since she was 4 and competing for 7 years. Juliana has been training since she could crawl and competing for 3 years. Unfortunately this was the last time you'll see the Eldridge sisters compete together, so this was truly a special tournament for them.
Introducing Leah Guthrie 🤼‍♀️ First year wrestler with only a couple weeks of training! I guarantee this young lady is going to make some noise next year at Alabama Girls State!

Small turnout at Battle of Bama, but the girls still had a blast! I tried to interview all of the girls wrestling in the girls division. I do apologize if I missed your daughter. Pay attention to how long most of the girls have been wrestling. First year for most of them! Please meet miss Ivy Troupe, from Tuscaloosa Takedown Titans.
Girls March 20, 8am-12 4 hours of training. There is a place for your coach/parents to watch. 1755 US-231 # B, Wetumpka, AL 36093 River Rats Wrestling Club will be hosting a camp designated for you! Coach Devaney Dodgens is a girl's wrestling coach at Brewton-Parker College. Coach Dodgens is high energy and a wealth of knowledge. Come get some information about wrestling in college and get better as a state! There will not be an experience requirement for 6-12th grade
Parents I'm going to try and interview girls at our tournaments. It's always a great way to showcase the girls. This was my first interview, so don't be to critical 👍🏻. I promise the videos will get better! Avalena Williamson and Ryleigh Vaughn are cousins and compete out of Heflin Youth Wrestling. Avalena placed 1st and Ryleigh took 3rd💪. Awesome job ladies
