Taken from the Dave Matthews Band album, Big Whiskey & The Groo Grux King, it captures the essence of Something Happening, Something Cool, Something Amazing. For the Dave Matthews Band it was a spirit or musical thing but with our love and inspiration from the band, it applies to our love for the food we create.

“As for the title, Matthews explains that “GrooGrux King” is a band nickname for Moor

e, who died last year. “Carter [Beauford] and Roi came up with the GrooGrux,” he says. “It’s their word for something that was happening, something that was cool, something that was amazing. It was sort of like a spirit or a musical thing, ‘That’s the Groo Grux.’ And Roi was the King, Le Roi.”

We are at it again, ya‘ll! Stop in Maryland Bakes tomight between 5-7:30 and pick up some delicious Grux Barbecue for the fam for dinner tonight! We are serving a local favorite - an option of Cherry 🍒 Dr. pepper OR Root Beer🥤 Pulled Pork 🐖 and Pulled Chicken. 🐓 You can choose between spicy pepper Jack Mac&Cheese 🌶️ as well as our Colby Jack Mac & cheese. 🧀 To top it all off, our pork belly burnt ends, aka “Meat Candy” will be available first come, first serve 😛. It's official, inspector said we are approved for service and can start taking orders immediately!!!
We'll get a calendar schedule up on the website soon for pre-ordered meals as well as plans for a pop up at our Maryland Bakes location!

We're one step closer to launch and should be clear to take orders first week in July when we get issued our license!

Greek Easter with family and new friends in Annapolis at my sister's place on the water. Beautiful day and amazing food. The chicken and lamb cooked on the souvla was soooo good!!
