A message that might upset a few, but needs to be heard:
As a Taylor Swift fan (but definitely not to be considered one of her "Swifties"), I'm disheartened by the unwarranted criticism she faces for simply existing in public spaces. Especially the recent "Boo's at this past Superbowl"! For What reason? Is there any justification? NO!!!
Consider the example we're setting:
Our children are always watching and learning from example as they witness us criticizing a woman for supporting her partner and enjoying herself at a sports event. What does this teach them?
Remember some of her accomplishments:
- Taylor Swift has won 324 awards.
- She boosted the U.S. economy by $5 billion. That’s not just impressive—it’s history-making.
- Universities like Harvard and Stanford have courses studying her as an artist, lyricist, and musician.
- She quietly donates to food banks in every city she performs in.
And she stood up to her sexual abuser, sued him for just $1, and won—proving that fighting for what’s right is priceless.
The real issue? The message we send when we demean successful women who dare to be visible.
Let's do better:
Teach respect regardless of gender!
Encourage everyone to claim their space and share their claim!
Choose words wisely – they shape our future!
We all play a part in creating a beautiful and shared world.
