February 14th is a special day for most, filled with love and chocolate. For me, it’s an extra special day! I like to think it’s the reason I’ve been drawn to romance and love stories my whole life. The reason I’ve been obsessed with weddings and dreaming about them since I was old enough to grasp the concept. The reason…it’s my birthday!!
Most of you don’t know that I was previously married, and the opportunity to be a bride, try on wedding dresses, spend the day celebrating with all my friends and family….an event I have been infatuated with, didn’t get to happen for me. So after my divorce, I finally put my type-A brain and obsession for love together and created Behind The Veil.
Getting to be a part of every wedding in the last 3 years of my business, has been a dream come true. But it was also a stab in the heart every fluff of a bride’s veil as she walks down the aisle. Every first dance and cake cutting. Things I wanted so badly. Jealously hit me often, but also pride and appreciation that I get to be a part of all these events.
Now, my perspective has changed. Everything led me to this time in my life, where my dreams can become reality. I have gained so much knowledge and friends in the industry. I believe every wedding I planned and coordinated led me here. I now get to enjoy being a bride for the next year with my amazing fiancé who supports that dream, and a career that is so rewarding and fulfilling.
