LHS Charity-18 ist complete.

On Friday 29th May 68 underprivileged families in Charaikhola, Bangladesh have received bags with groceries containing:

1. Rice 4 kg = 176 Taka
2. Flour 1kg = 40 Taka
3. Dal 1/2 kg = 50 Taka
5. Sugar 1/2 kg = 40 Taka
6. Semai 1 pack = 40 Taka.
7. Milk 1 pack = 10 Taka
9. Packaging cost = 10 Taka.
10. Transport cost = 10 Taka
Total amount per packets = 376 Taka.

This will enable each family to provide one decent meal for their family members, totalling 1300 people, to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

The distribution was made possible with the generosity of

Apologies for the long delay. We have been extremely busy with all kinds of seasonal duties and joys.

LHS-Charity 15 has been completed.
A community kitchen has been set up and food was prepared and distributed to 380 villagers at Kuyemari village of Heremba Gopalpur Panchayet, West Bengal/India.
The area has been heavily affected by a flood (monsoon+cyclone yaas).

This distribution has been possible with the generosity of all participants of a Yoga-Event held by Anna Lempriere and private donors.

We are extremely grateful to the lovely people around Kamrin Monir and her team who had been on site. 🙏🏽

Another great event 🌸

Restorative Yoga class, as part of my teacher training I'm holding a charity class to raise funds for project LHS (Live Home Stage).
More details below. This is an effortless class, where you are completely supported to restore, with bolsters, blankets, blocks and cushions, open to all. £10 all donated to charity.

Wednesday 9th June 7-8.30pm, DM me for zoom details.

Class will be meditative, very gentle, with some readings and poetry. We all deserve that precious time to recouperate.

LHS Charity.

Through the donations from these magical events we have been able to hand out food parcels to 1200 families, approx. 6000 people in India and Bangladesh. In addition, warm blankets and sweaters were distributed to older beggars and street children last winter. We were also able to provide a replacement wheelchair for a destitute handicapped person, whose wheelchair was destroyed in a traffic accident. In the South of Bengal we were able to have tarpaulins distributed to 80 families who had lost their homes in the cyclone “Amphan”. A few families have also received some financial support in order to be able to purchase much-needed medication.

The people we support are daily wagers, domestic workers, rickshaw drivers and other underprivileged people who have lost their income due to the pandemic and its consequences. They are not only starving, now with this new variant and lack of governmental aid they are dying on mass.

This is why help is needed more than ever.
The distributions are carried out on site by small NGOs and people we know personally and are always documented so people can see where and how their donations have been used.

Rice, daal and other groceries have been brought to 100+ families of migrant workers in Mumbai, Mira Bhayander RD.

This has been possible with the generosity of our dear friends and beautiful musicians Lee Small, Paul Manzi and Minki Malkin
as well as private donors.

We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the wonderful people who have taken out this distribution for us - Kamrin Kazi and her team.

LHS-charity 13 is complete.

Groceries have been distributed to 52 families (roughly 1000 members) in Charaikhola (district Nilphamari/division Rangpur) in Bangladesh.

This has been made possible with the generosity of Minki Malkin, Paul Manzi and private donors.

Each family received:
Rice 4 kg, Flour 2 kg, Soyabean oil 1/2 lt, Dal 1/2 kg, Sugar 1/2 kg, Soap 1 pc, Potatoes 2 kg and Semai 1 packet.

Our sincere thanks go to Rashel Chowdhury (Bhai), his wife Monjila, Sariful Bhai and Atik, who bought the items, prepared the packages and delivered them to people in need in the village.

LHS-charity 11 is complete.

85 blankets , 7 sarees and 24 sweaters have been distributed to eldery people and children in the villages Hiragachi, Karia and Sahapur in Purba Bardhaman district.
5000 INR have been donated to a handicapped beggar whose wheel chair got damaged last week in an accident.

‘ENSEMBLE COLOURS’

Der in Gaziantep/Türkei geborene Musiker Seref Dalyanoglu kam 1975 mit seinen Eltern nach
Deutschland. Als Jugendlicher entdeckte er seine Zuneigung für die Musik und begann als Autodidakt mit dem türkischen Instrument Saz. Erst viel später nahm er Ud-Unterricht bei Serhan Aytan an der I.T.Ü
Istanbul.

Seine Frau Öykü Şensöz begann Ihre musikalische Ausbildung im Fach Operngesang in Istanbul mit
anschließenden Masterabschlüssen im Mozarteum Salzburg und an der Musikhochschule Nürnberg. Aufgrund ihres Geburtsortes Istanbul und ihrer Musik liebenden Familie kam sie bereits mit jungen Jahren unweigerlich auch mit der türkischen Musik in Berührung. Somit hatte sie die Grundlage, die westöstliche Musikkultur zu verbinden. Zudem nahm sie Unterricht für türkischen Gesang bei Ruhi Ayangil.

Die beiden Musiker haben sich auf verschiedene Musikgattungen spezialisiert und gehören mittlerweile zu den besten türkischen Musikern, die in Deutschland leben. Sie vermitteln in ihren Konzerten die wunderbare Welt der türkischen Musik, angefangen aus der Sarai bis zu den entlegensten Orten der
anatolischen Steppen, Beispiele aus der islamischen Musik bis hin zur modernen klassischen Musik und
schließlich türkischen Tangos. Durch die verschiedenartige Ausbildung, die beide hatten, können sie problemlos westliche und türkische Musikkulturen verbinden.

Die in Augsburg geborene Pianistin Stephanie Knauer erhielt ihren ersten Klavierunterricht ab dem
sechsten Lebensjahr, ab dem neunten bei Ulrich Schwarz. Ihr Studium an der Musikhochschule
Augsburg/Nürnberg schloss sie 2001 mit dem künstlerischen Diplom „mit Auszeichnung“, die
Meisterklasse 2003 mit dem Meisterklassendiplom ab.
Seit 2003 arbeitet Stephanie Knauer außerdem als freie Texterin und Journalistin für diverse Agenturen, Zeitungen und Zeitschriften. Mit ihr schließt sich der Kreis zwischen Orient und Okzident.

Durch das hohe technische Können und ihre wunderbare Musikalität baut das Trio eine hörbar
genussreiche Brücke zwischen den Kulturen. Mozarts „Türkischer Marsch“, Lieder von Bach, Beethoven, Schubert oder Vivaldi werden kombiniert mit Dede Efendi oder alten türkischen Traditionen.

LHS Charity-9 is complete.

Rachael, Martin and I were able to fund this one through a performance of our musical reading of “The Little Prince“ by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. A wonderful organizer had decided to not just cancel our show during Covid 19. Instead he made it an online event and paid us as agreed before.

The distribution has been taken out in 3 phases in Kaikhali/Kolkata. 170 families mostly of maids, hawkers, van and auto rishshaw pullers who had lost their jobs due to Covid 19 were given ration kits.

Again we would like to thank Kamrin Monir and her team.
