While Branson 2-for-1 ticket specials and BOGO 50% off specials might seem like a great deal at first glance, there are several reasons why they might not be as advantageous as they appear. Here are the reasons why:

Limited Selection
Deals often apply only to specific shows or attractions, which may not include the most popular or desired options. Many places offering these ticket specials will then try to sell you additional tickets to other shows that are minimally discounted or at full price. Some my actually cost more that what you would pay at the theater box office after additional fees are added.

Restrictions
There can be blackout dates and other restrictions limiting when you can use the tickets. Some of the 2 for 1 tickets cannot be reserved over the phone or the internet before you come to Branson. They must be reserved in person at a location in Branson.

Quality of Seats
Discounted tickets may offer less desirable seating locations. Some of the 2 for 1 tickets in Branson do not allow you to have reserved and pre-assigned seating. You are required to show up at the theater right before showtime to have your seats assigned.

Inflated Prices
Regular ticket prices might be inflated to make the deals appear more attractive. Some places charge fees on the 2 for 1 and BOGO specials, making the price at checkout almost the same or sometimes more than what you would pay at other ticket resellers.

The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama is the action-packed live reenactment of the famous historical novel by Christian minister, Harold Bell Wright. Published in 1907, this beautiful story tells of life in the rugged Ozark Mountains of Missouri in the late 1800’s.

Over 90 actors and actresses, horses, sheep, mules and donkey’s perform on a stage the size of a football field. There’s a shoot-out, the actual burning of a log cabin, a love story, a mystery and a moral message that is as true today as it was over a century ago.

Showtime is 8:30pm May thru August, 7:30pm in September and October. Jeep-drawn trams will pick you up from the parking lots and carry you down the hill – and back in time over a century. Pre-show activities begin approximately 45 minutes prior to showtime. Guests are welcome down on set to visit with the cast and our younger visitors are encouraged to take part in a gunnie sack race or visit with some of our animals up close.

During our unique intermission, guests are also encouraged onto the set to take part in a square dance with our cast and to visit with the characters. After the show the cast loves to meet with our visitors, pose for pictures and sign autographs.

The theatre is reserved seating, advance reservations are recommended.

Board of Aldermen Vote to Reopen Branson
(May 4, 2020)

The Branson Board of Aldermen unanimously voted to remove all local restrictions that were outlined in Chapter 58 of the Branson Municipal Code pertaining to social distancing, essential businesses and the spread of communicable diseases on a double read at a special Board of Aldermen, Monday, May 4, 2020. All aldermen were present.

This means residents and businesses in the City of Branson are required to follow all state requirements from the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. Those requirements can be found here: https://governor.mo.gov/show-me-strong-recovery-plan-guidance-and-frequently-asked-questions. This ordinance will go into effect immediately.

The City of Branson will continue to work in coordination with partner agencies, as well as the state and federal government, to monitor this rapidly evolving situation and to ensure our response actions are based on the latest facts. We will communicate updates to the Branson community as the situation changes and as we make additional decisions regarding our local response.
