Scoping out some exciting future venues in our local communities. Wonderful vibes this evening in Penmachno where there was a treasure hunt, and pizza evening... The newly renovated community hall here is just that: offering amazing opportunities for the community to come together young and old... Wonderful.
Perfect spot for some Ethio Kitchen pop up action?!
Diaries are being consulted, plans are being hatched, appetites are building (go steady there as it may be a month or so yet...)... Penmachno Hall be ready for some.spice!

Difin Misir Wot (Brown Lentil Curry). A new addition to our menu for this week.
Brown lentils cooked in turmeric, onion, fresh green chilli, garlic and ginger. With a depth of mellow smoky spiciness.
One of our family favourites when visiting Ethiopia.
A vegan dish, which matches well with any of our menu choices. Delicious with cumin rice and injera!

Ethiopian coffee, Bhuna in Amharic is an essential part of our culture. There are no time limita for Bhuna with friends.
The coffee beans are freshly roasted and ground, brewed in a jebena (a round bottomed clay pot) for some time, and served in small cups. Accompanied by fresh pop corn, dabo (fresh soft bread) or kolo (roasted barley, chick peas and peanuts).
The herb Tena Adam (Common Rue) can be dipped in a cup of Bhuna for its medicinal properties, and to add a distinctive taste. The herb is also a component of berbere, the characteristic Ethiopian spice mixture used in our Siga Wot and Miser Bishero dishes.
Tena Adam can be found growing locally here in Llandudno.

Back on our menu this week due to popular demand.
This is one of our special dishes.
Organic free range chicken cooked on the bone, with onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, Ethiopian spice "burberry" - hand made by our family in Ethiopia, vegetable oil and marinated butter containing Ethiopian herbs.
Served with a boiled egg and Ayb - home-made cottage cheese.
In Ethiopia this is a dish generally reserved for special occasions. Often eaten at Easter, religious holidays, Christmas, New Year etc.
