Massive thanks to Sara at Bosty Fields : Secure Dog Park for inviting us to light the bbq yesterday, and to everyone who came to see us, we had an AMAZING day. I’m so sorry to anyone who we weren’t able to feed - we had no idea we would sell out quite so quickly! We came away with some really lovely bits from some stall holders and wonderful cakes as always from Fairy Good Cakes, and even managed to squeeze in a couple of cocktails in the absolutely glorious sunshine too.

This Sunday we are at Bosty Fields Summer Fayre and Dog Show 12-5 with a simple summer bbq menu:

🐷 Smoked pulled pork brioche, slaw, pickles, crispy onions, choice of either cherry bbq or sweet mustard sauce
🍔 Beef burger/cheese burger/cheese & bacon burger with optional pickles, onions, salad and various sauces
🌭 Cheddar and jalapeño Frankfurter
🌭 Classic beef Frankfurter
🍔 🍃 Moving mountains veggie burger/cheese burger

We’ll also have a selection of cold drinks, because the weather forecast looks 🥵 ☀️ 🌞

They have plenty of traders as well fun dog competitions, cocktail bar, desserts and loads of other bits all for a good cause!

After a manic couple of months doing BBQ competitions and private catering events, we are finally back with a popup and we can’t wait!

The marquee is up. The stage built. The beer tent stocked. The meat smoking!

Properly excited for tomorrows presidents day - be warned though, I’ll be wearing my tour shirt and drinking so the standard of service may slip even further than it does normally 🤣🤣

I’ve also managed to find my Warley RFC golf ball so watch your drinks!! 🍸

We have the following on throughout the day subject to availability:

➡️ Smoked and seasoned pulled beef ‘Philly cheesesteak’ with sautéed mixed peppers and onions, jalapeños and an ungodly amount of cheese 🧀

➡️ Smoked pulled pork in a toasted brioche bun with homemade slaw, pickles, cherry bbq sauce or Carolina mustard bbq sauce and crispy onions

➡️ Halloumi brioche bun with a choice of toppings

➡️ Chilli beef loaded nachos with nacho cheese sauce, jalapeños, sour cream, salsa, crispy onions

➡️ Tandoori chicken roll with mint yogurt and hot sauce because it’s the law

There is also a band, DJ, raffle, bouncy castle, face painting (adults and kids!) and real ale, it’s such a cracking day, please come out and support your local rugby club 🏉

Sunday 5th May we are back at Warley RFC for their annual presidents day. It’s always the best day - rugby, beer, bbq, live music, line outs with shots, horrendous singing, boat races, crisp JENGA, and absolutely top banter, I’ve only just about recovered from last year 🤣

I’m thinking the menu will probably look something like this but it is tbc:

➡️ Smoked pulled beef Philly cheesesteak
➡️ Mexican chicken and bacon club sub with chipotle mayo, avocado, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes
➡️ Smoked pulled pork rolls with homemade slaw, pickles, crispy onions, cherry bbq sauce

You absolutely wonderful bunch! Today was just fantastic, like a proper homecoming and I even got to door people (IYKYK 🤣)

I got to feed my favourite food to wonderful people, and listen to a bloody brilliant band too.

The feedback I had today was so lovely and it makes it all worthwhile. These popups aren’t just a few hours service. They are at least 2 days of stock planning, ordering, collection, prep and smoking, a day of service, and 2 days of clean up on top of a day job.

As always thanks to Scott and Sharon for having me, can’t wait to come back again soon!

After a really lovely few weekends off, we are back, baby!

This weekend you can find us at New Invention Brewery on Friday 1st March, from 1730 onwards. It’s a simple menu but I will be riding solo so need to make sure I can keep up! There will also hopefully be some specials too so feel free to ask what else we have on the grill 😉

On Saturday we are catering a private event at a birthday party for one of our lovely regulars.

After that you can catch us at Leviathan Brewing on 22-23rd March followed by Fixed Wheel Brewery on Good Friday 29th March for their spring beer festival. We haven’t planned those menus yet but I do have some ideas up my sleeve and you might see some practice cooks being shared on here!

Well then, you lovely lot.

I know it’s been quiet this end - we’ve made the most of having a few weekends off and doing what ‘normal’ people do (I re-potted all my houseplants and brought some cushions from B&M) but we are back at it this weekend catering a wedding reception.

In other news, we wanted to let you know that we are now fully booked for the year, with the exception of a couple of weekends in September and October, so if you want to book us for anything it’s either then, or 2025 🤣😱

My god it’s been a long year so far 😆

ANNOUNCEMENT
Ladies and gents, there will be a slight delay to the start of service, because of the adverse the weather the smokers have taken much much longer to get up to temp early this morning (even though I did account for this in planning!) plus we are using new fuel which really isn’t generating as much heat as we would like on this kit.

Therefore service is delayed by 1 hour and will start at 2pm

The menu for Saturday at Waggon and Horses - there are limited quantities of everything and as this is a VERY small kitchen takeover - as in, it’s only me we can fit in the tiny kitchen - please bear with us on the day if we get a rush on! I’ll sling your cobs as fast as I can. And I’ll apologise now for the sounds of crashing and some elaborate swearing.

£1 from every main will also be going in to the charity jar.

It’s back for 2023!

After the success of last year’s, on December 16th we’ll be hosting another Xmas Craft Market.

Expect a range of crafts, food, beer, wine and some mulled goodness from midday. Just pop along, have a mooch, and get in the Xmas mood.

Those of you who've popped into the tap today have probably already seen this, but for those who haven't.. here it is!

We know we have quite a few regulars who dabble in brewing themselves, and it's how our very own Chris got started all those years ago. As such, Homebrew Club is something we've been threatening to do for a while. And it's finally kicking off on the 23rd of this month!

As the poster says, whether you've been brewing for years, are a complete novice, or somewhere in between, you'll be very welcome. Bring along a beer or two of your own to share if you have some, bounce ideas & advice off one another, and most importantly, enjoy yourselves!

As you have probably come to expect we totally forgot to take pictures of our food at the weekend but here are a couple of the ones we did get! Thanks so much to everyone who ate with us we really appreciate you!

We are now taking a few weeks off, to socialise at weekends with friends (such luxury) and do all the stuff round the house which gets neglected when you work all week and do popups every weekend.
