Like seriously, what the actual f**k is going on in this world. Like I get it, and given my education knew the world would get crazy but now that it’s here I’m like, what the actual f**k.
I started writing a post a few years ago about a sense I had about Western comfortability and what felt like a burgeoning false sense of security.
Our sense of security and GENERAL comfort is predicated upon the insecurity of millions of humans around the world. I recall speaking to a Christian work colleague several years ago about this, and he said that this was needed in order to create balance! For a few years now I’ve been having recurring dreams about Nazi’s coming along and taking people away in carts and…it’s crazy to think that a form of this is happening in a Western country such as the US, and whilst I recognise this worsening INCORPORATES an unveiling, where will this end?
I need to list just SOME of what’s happening actually:
Congo genocide and r**e of resources
Palestine genocide and annexation
Suppression and punishment for those wanting to speak up about what’s happening in Palestine
Obvious support and a turning a blind eye to genocide
Russia/Ukraine war
India/Pakistan (nearly)
Trump in power and the impact this is having in the US
The Western plan to assassinate Ibrahim Traoré because he wants to liberate Burkina Faso from colonial power and have its resources serve its inhabitants
The alleged suspicious deaths of African leaders not bowing to Western policy (Journalist John Pilger wrote/presented extensively on the US assassination policy)
The rise of the far right
The rise of overt racism
The scapegoating and the demonisation of immigrants
The scapegoating and the demonisation people of colour
Tarnishing black people as thieves whilst grand theft occurs at the heights of power and in government
Unconsciousness, unconsciousness, ignorance and heartlessness
Where is the love…where is the heart?
Complacency and silence no longer feel like an option for me - but what to do and how to do it is what I’m figuring out, alongside this deepening recognition of the importance of joy and being true to myself and doing what I love. Cont in comments…
