A quick reminder that Autumn Daze, celebrating the season, is on THIS SATURDAY.

Please come along - we have Boho Kitchen and Megsy Bakes attending as well as many local craft stalls for you to peruse and pick up a treat or two.

The Cricketers Arms will be providing autumnal refreshments, but for those who’d like to have a go at making their own apple juice, the village apple press will be available and ready for use. Just bring along your apples and containers! 🍎 🍏 🧃

📣 Attention all pumpkin growers, the weigh-in for this year’s pumpkin growing competition will be held at 2pm 🎃 🏆 🏵

QUENDON & RICKLING AUTUMN DAZE EVENT

On Saturday 1st October Quendon & Rickling will be hosting their annual Autumn Daze Event on our beautiful Village green.

The Event will take place from 1 - 4pm with the Village apple press being used to press your yummy apples, just bring your apples and a container and you can go home with your own supply of apple juice.

The Cricketers Arms will be having an outside bar and Boho Kitchen and Megsybakes will be there to feed you all.

There will be stalls from local crafters and makers.

The Village would like to invite all local crafters to come and have a stall, free of charge, just bring your own gazebo and table.

If you are a local crafter and would like to join in the Autumn celebrations, then please contact Rob Ryder for further details. He can be emailed on: [email protected]

This will be a great Family Day Out before the Winter sets in, so we hope you will all be able to join us.

JUBILEE PICNIC
Tomorrow, 5 June, 2:30pm ~
Rickling Green

Well, it wouldn’t be a British Bank Holiday weekend without some rain forecast, would it?
Fingers crossed though as today was forecast to be wet too, and it’s turned out fine! 🤞🏻

We do have wet weather plans and will have two large gazebos up - the band will have shelter as well.
Feel free to bring along your own gazebos too - a bit of rain can’t dampen our spirits!

Speaking of spirits, our horse box bar parked up on the green is serving:

Craft beers, apple and pear cider, vodka, mead, spiced and flavoured rums, Pimms, alcoholic flavoured waters and 25 different gins (including the worlds strongest!), plus a good non-alcoholic selection.

Hot teas and coffees will also be available, with soy milk and regular available too.

So we’ll be able to drown our sorrows even if it does rain!

Don’t want to bring a picnic? Hot food options are hog roast and pizza!

The team in charge of decorating the fountain on Cambridge Road have done a spectacular job - be sure to check it out in person (it’s even better in the real and will have another whole dimension at night…!).

The Voice Box - Mobile Live Music Stage, straight from the West End, and on the telly, will be coming along to provide the soundtrack to our afternoon, singing LIVE classics from the 50s into the 60s 🎶🎤 🎷

Will you be there too, dressed in your red, white and blue and/or 1950s finest?

We have free entertainment planned (Bouncy Castle and Obstacle Course), plus food and drink options on offer too. So bring along your picnics, blankets and dancing shoes! 💃🕺🏼

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHT SWITCH-ON
AND CAROLS BY LANTERN LIGHT

Join us at 5:30pm by the Cricket Pavilion
for our annual light-up of the tree and carol sing-a-long on Saturday 11th December.
Seasonal food and drink will be on sale, so bring along your lantern and woolly-wear for lots of seasonal cheer.

Look out for the display at the Village Hall as well!

📣What else is on in the village this year?

Tom’s Trees are selling their gorgeous natural trees at Terrace and Garden, together with Christmas decorations and homeware, from Saturday 27th November.

The Cricketers Arms - Rickling Green is hosting a DIY wreath workshop with Floral Desire Florist on Saturday 4th December at 3:30pm, with mulled wine and mince pies. Book directly with the pub.

Quendon Church is holding a traditional Christmas service of 9 lessons and carols at 6pm on Sunday 12th December. All welcome!

Please bring along your apples for the presser to produce fresh, natural apple juice. Don't forget to bring along your own bottles as there won't be any spare bottles to use.

Only 2 days to go until the Quickling Festival!! 🎉

We can't wait to see you all there, come rain or shine (but please all cross fingers for some sunshine 🌞)

Just a reminder of some of the key facts:
- FREE ENTRY FOR ALL
- The Festival will be open from midday, ready for a full day of fun
- Registration for the dog show will also open at midday with the dog show starting at 1pm 🐶
- Photography 📷entries to be in by 4pm on 21st August but remember two of the categories are 'best 'people' photo of the day' and 'best 'place' photo of the day'
- Parking is available at the pub and on the football pitch (please follow the signs)
- The band will be starting at 4pm 💃
- Raffle tickets will be available to purchase on the day and the raffle prizes will be drawn in the afternoon before the band starts.
- We have a fabulous close-up magician coming so be sure to seek him out.

Quickling Festival 2021 update: Not only has this year's Festival got the stalls, the food and drink and activities on the day as well as the Raffle (another update coming soon with even more great prizes) and the Dog Show (please see last post for details), there's also going to be a photography competition for all you budding photographers!

Getting ready for Autumn Daze featuring the village Apple Press on 6 October! 🍎 Tiddly Tuk

Creating some easy cocktails ready for apple pressing season and Ciderfest event in October. First up, Apple Gin Mule. 1 part gin, 1 part cider, 3 parts Ginger ale. Really light and refreshing......very dangerous!
