Best Version? Some of the swing "classics" have been recorded so many times, by so many different artists, and I'm always looking for a better version of some songs. (I recently heard a great version of "When I Get Low I Get High" and really liked it, but I was looking for version at a slightly slower tempo. To me, the lyrics seem like they're just asking for a slow version, but every version I found was uptempo. Until way down on my search .... Gordon Webster has a live version at the tempo I was looking for! Why does he always do such great versions of songs I'm looking for that are different from the standard/original in just the way I want..... Who cares, just listen to that wonderful music! Do you have a swing song that you love that's different from the "standard" or "usual" way it's performed? Let me know in the comments -thanks

Christine LeBel wanted me to post a top-ten list, but who has only 10 favorite songs? Plus, they change all the time, depending on my mood. Do I want to dance Lindy, Balboa, something else?? Anyway, here's what I will do- highlight some of my favorite recent aquisitions, spread the love, and maybe highlight some "hidden gems"...
I got "The New Lowdown" by House of the Black Gardenia a few months ago. The whole album is great, including "Tell Liza 'Bout Me" which I LOVE:
