As I gaze out at the stunning sunset, the sparkling sea, and the majestic palm tree towering beside me, I’m filled with gratitude and wonder.

Every day, I’m more and more humbled by the incredible sights I’m privileged to witness. The Earth’s beauty is truly beyond words.

Perspectives

As I stood in the tower, gazing through a small, round opening, I witnessed a breathtaking sunset over the beach. The unique cement framework and lack of glass only added to the magic of this moment.

In that instant, I realized that our perspectives are often limited to what we see from our individual vantage points. Just as the small aperture restricted my view, our own biases, experiences, and assumptions can confine our understanding of the world.

Let’s remember to open our horizons, to seek out diverse perspectives, and to cultivate curiosity. There’s beauty in embracing the unknown and broadening our understanding of the world.

Seven years ago, I took a leap of faith and stepped into the unknown, traveling to León, Mexico to meet a special person. Little did I know, this journey would forever change the trajectory of my life.

As I stood before the majestic angel wings near the church, a young girl captured my photo. I was a whirlwind of emotions, dreams, and uncertainty. Yet, in that moment, I felt an unshakeable sense of euphoria.

Fast-forward to today, I’m back in Mexico, reunited with the loved ones who became my Mexican family of heart. We’ve shared laughter, tears, and countless moments over the past seven years, forging an unbreakable bond.

To commemorate this full-circle moment, I’ve taken a new photo in the same spot where it all began – in front of those iconic angel wings. Yet, this time, I stand as a transformed individual, shaped by the experiences and connections of the past seven years.

One of my greatest joys is that I’ve fulfilled my dream of learning Spanish. Today, I can proudly say that I speak Spanish, a language that has opened doors to new cultures, connections, and understanding.

This experience embodies the spirit of my United Earth project: celebrating our shared humanity, embracing diversity, and fostering connections that transcend borders and cultures.

As I celebrate this reunion, I’m filled with joy, love, and a deep appreciation for life’s surprises. This is happiness: being open to the unknown, embracing growth, and cherishing the beauty of human connection.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I’ve always had a blast (literally!) watching fireworks, but I never thought I’d get to see them up close and personal... like, REALLY close! haha

But in all seriousness, I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced the richness of cultures around the world. From vibrant festivals to breathtaking landscapes, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the beauty of human connection and creativity.

As I look back on my travels, I’m reminded of the magnificent humans I’ve met along the way. Each of them has left an indelible mark on my heart, and I’m grateful for the lessons they’ve taught me.

So as we step into a new year, I want to wish you all a spark of inspiration, a dash of creativity, and a whole lot of love. May your eyes shine bright, just like mine , and may you spread your light to every corner of the world.

Today, I want to share with you an unforgettable experience I had during the Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico. This ancient festival is a time-honored tradition that honors the lives of loved ones who have passed on, and it’s a testament to the country’s rich cultural heritage.

As I walked through the vibrant streets, I was struck by the sheer scale and beauty of the festivities. The air was filled with the sweet scent of marigolds, the sound of lively music, and the smell of delicious traditional foods. There were so many things happening at once that I didn’t know where to look!

But then, something caught my eye - a magnificent bull, adorned with fireworks, dancing and running through the crowds! I was mesmerized by the sight, and my eyes shone with wonder.

This tradition is known as the “Pamplona de los Mu***os” or “Running of the Dead,” and it’s a unique and exciting part of the Day of the Dead celebrations in certain regions of Mexico. The bull, symbolizing strength and fertility, is adorned with fireworks, which represent the light and warmth of life.

As I watched this incredible spectacle, I felt a deep sense of joy and connection to the people and culture around me. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of celebrating life, honoring our ancestors, and embracing the beauty and richness of our diverse cultural heritage.

So let’s come together to celebrate our differences and find common ground in our shared humanity. Let’s honor the lives of those who have come before us, and let’s cherish the time we have with those who are still with us.

Yesterday, I shared with you my experience of discovering a giant skeleton from afar during the Days of the Dead celebration. Today, I’m excited to share with you a closer look at another magnificent skeleton that left me in awe.

As I watched this skeleton pass by, I felt a sense of wonder and awe. These towering figures are truly imposing, and when they’re up close, it’s an unforgettable experience. But what really struck me was the reminder that, just like these skeletons, we too can rise above and make our mark.

Let us be inspired by the spirit of the Days of the Dead, and let us remember to live life to the fullest, to be brave, and to make every moment count.

As I walked through the streets during the Days of the Dead celebration, I felt a sense of wonder. The parade was filled with music, dancing, and fireworks. My eyes were wide with excitement, taking in all the colors and sounds.

In that moment, I felt like a child again. The celebration reminded me that no matter how old we get, we should never lose our sense of curiosity and awe.

Honoring the Ancestors: A Night to Remember in Oaxaca’s Cemetery

I had the privilege of witnessing a breathtaking spectacle in Oaxaca’s cemetery on Día de los Mu***os. This majestic character, adorned with vibrant makeup and an illuminated headdress, left me in awe.

His Aztec-inspired attire and skeletal decorations transported me to a world where ancient traditions meet modern celebrations. The Dance of the Feather, a traditional Zapotec ritual, came to mind as I gazed upon his majestic presence.

This powerful figure embodies the essence of Día de los Mu***os: honoring the ancestors, embracing life and death, and celebrating the cycle of existence.

I was fortunate to cross paths with Raúl Prieto, an exceptional plastic artist, and I feel grateful to have had the chance to experience his work and meet him. His art reflects his constant quest for emotional and cognitive congruence, inviting us to reflect on our actions, thoughts, and emotions.

With impressive skill, Raúl creates a narrative universe that leads us to rediscover emotional expression through contrasts of light and darkness. His commitment to mental health and emotional awareness is evident in his work and projects, inspiring us to live an authentic and meaningful life.

A classmate, whom I admired for his stunning appearance and confidence, would consistently single me out in front of our peers. His words, though puzzling at first, left an indelible mark on my heart.In that moment, I discovered the power of encouragement.
