Today is the day!
We hope to see you stopping by for our local singer/songwriter variety showcase. 3-5pm in Chester Square.

The Local lineup

3pm-Brian Ledford
"Drawing from his roots and what’s close to his heart, Ledford creates deeply evocative songs containing rich characters and storytelling. Music as much informed by The Clash as The Flatlanders."

3:30pm-Royce Leon
"Royce Leon is a singer-songwriter originally from the same town that brought you, Bret Michaels and Shane Gillis. He now calls the Pacific Northwest home where he spends his time crafting the art of the Troubadour while on the road. Audiences often walk away from a show feeling like they experienced the perfect mix of Hair Folk and comedy one might expect."

4pm-Harlem Ren-
Harlem Ren is a blues singer and songwriter originally from NYC. He and his family have been on the peninsula for many years now. His vocals and songs tell stories of painful pasts and hopeful futures. "His music will leave you feeling like you've walked out of a blues club in New Orleans."

4:30-Darrell Dominic
Originally from the east side of Oklahoma City, Darrell makes music with the intention of inspiring, encouraging and connecting people through transparent stories of pain and perseverance. He is a man of faith, storyteller and entrepreneur.

Closing out the event is The Kid Avè Project

Avè grew up performing and playing music around PT and is excited to perform again for their hometown as they come into their own genre as a young adult. Their music is inspired by American and Filipino hip hop as well as Filipino Harana–or serenade music. Their songs aim to represent Filipino-Americans, mixed/BIPOC kids, q***r people, immigrants, and the intersectionality of all of these things.

The Kid Avè Project is a refreshing hip-hop inspired sound with Filipino roots.

Thank you Friends of the Port Townsend Library for partnering with Soundcheck Music & Arts Festival!

Friends of the Port Townsend Library will host Family Movie Night on Thursday, August 15th, 6-8pm featuring W***y Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

They are also a sponsor of the free Community Lindy Hop dance class at Tyler Plaza which take place Friday August 16th, 4-7pm. Learn how to Lindy Hop with some incredible instructors, then dance the afternoon away to live swing music.
