If I had to use one word to describe Dani & Kolbie’s wedding, it would be: demure. Their entire day at Shady Elms Farm was very mindful, from rocking the dance floor, to the very considerate B+W Glam ; it was flawless from start to finish. Their 7 month old daughter was the cutesy cherry on top. Congrats to The Checcas!! 🤍
Without color, we’re forced to focus on contrast & emotion — an invitation to relive moments in their rawest + simplest form. & so with that in mind, I believe E & J’s wedding day to be a story best told in black & white 🖤🤍
7.20.24 - The Saturn Club was the perfect venue for Carly & James’ beautiful wedding yesterday in Buffalo, NY. A sunny & radiant ceremony in the courtyard made for a picturesque reception, with sounds and entertainment provided by none other than Mark Mazur and the Little Big Band.

In 2019, before SNAPS BY SEAN even existed, I took some photos for Bri & Scott. Now, 5 years later, they’ve added baby Parker into the mix and have such a beautiful family together. Peep the last photo to see the transformation!
I love working with returning clients. I love watching engagements turn into marriages that turn into families. Such a blessing to be able to share their story. This is why we do it, folks!!!
The Vahey’s were SNAPS BY SEAN first client ever. Almost 4 years ago exactly, we had an impromptu family session so that I could try out my new camera. They believed in me when I was just getting started and I’ll always be grateful for that.
This past weekend, we were able to have a very similar session, and it’s amazing to look back and compare the photos from then to now.
My ego wants to talk about how my composition has improved. How I have a much better understanding of light and posing. How my editing style has changed drastically. But I don’t think that’s the message here.
For me, what makes these photos special is the story of just how much this family has grown over the last 4 years. How two twins have matured into thoughtful young adults. How a Mother has nurtured a loving & respectful family. And of course, the suspenseful unknown of what’s to come next as they both start their Senior year in the fall.
I’ve realized recently how quickly things can change. How 1 year turns into 5 years, and how that can turn into 10 years before we know it. This is why photography is so important, because it reminds us of how far we’ve come, and gives us a moment to wonder about what comes next.

A few years ago I photographed B + B’s 5 year anniversary & vow renewal. Two years later, our paths crossed again for their 7 year anniversary. We were shooting at Presque Isle as the sun was setting, and out of nowhere, the most beautiful rainbow appeared just as they were both becoming fully immersed in the water of Lake Erie.
It was such a special moment & I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to capture memories like these, with clients that keep coming back, time & time again. Happy anniversary to Bailey & Bobby 🌈🌅🤍

Every journey has a story, and every person I meet becomes a part of that narrative. Last week, a snorkeling trip in Turks & Caicos turned into a very unexpected photoshoot. Among the coral reefs & schools of fish, I met Star - a creative soul, a fashion designer, & an embodiment of the city’s energy she calls home, NYC.
She carried the ocean with her, not just in the seashell purse that immediately caught my eye, but truly in her spirit and the way she carried herself. I had my camera with me, and as the day drew to a close, I asked if she’d like to capture some photos. She was all for it, and I’m so happy with the images. While it’s true, every picture tells a story, sometimes it’s the stories behind the pictures that are even more compelling. The stories are what make photos really come to life. Just a photographer with a vision, meeting a fellow creative, & making memories in the middle of the ocean. 🌊✨
Rachel & Zach wanted very few “posed” portraits, and instead indicated their preference for a more organic and candid style. I 100% bought in, and tried my best to simply let the day unfold naturally. It was a lesson in patience, in waiting for juuuuust the right shot, and in how to be fully present on a wedding day.

I’m so excited to finally share that our photos have been published in Pennsylvania Wedding (), Volume 5. This is a first for us, and it’s so cool to see our work in a printed magazine alongside so many other talented photographers & creatives.
This really was an all around team effort from the start. was a force in the planning of the entire day, .deanhuey had a beautiful vision that helped guide our decisions, and was absolutely stunning, per usual. The way that all of the vendors worked and flowed together was a true work of art. Not even torrential downpour could stop this day from being everything it was meant to be.
huey and were a joy to work with. Looking back at their big day and all the special moments we shared together, I’m just filled with gratitude. They chose us to be a part of their journey together, and that’s a massive honor that I don’t take lightly.
And of course, the real MVP of this wedding, — an inspiration and an invaluable part of this day. Statistically speaking, she took exactly 1/2 of the images that were published in the magazine. Her keen eye for capturing unique details and raw emotion is a force to be reckoned with.

I've been waiting until it snowed in Erie to share this wintry wedding film at the beautiful The Harper Event Venue ☃️🥶 Congrats to new Mr. & Mrs. Elk!!
Getting the “best shot” isn’t always as important as getting the “right shot”. Wedding filmmaking is all about being able to tell a story, and you can’t do that if you capture the entire day from one perspective. It’s not the individual video clips that make a wedding film great, it’s the culmination of clips, edits, transitions, music, sound effects, voice-overs, etc. that make those moments beautiful together. Sometimes though, those individual clips that contribute to the larger story are objectively stunning in their own right. I call them “bangers”. Some people call them “fire”. They’re the kind of clips that you can watch over and over and over again and never get bored of. The kind of clips where color grading is nice, but not necessary. The kind of clips that elevate a story from a biography to a work of art. Wedding films are primarily long-format, so it’s rare that I get to share short-form video content like this, but I thought that recapping the 2022 wedding season was justifiable. So, that’s just what this post is about. No audio, no edits, no intros... Just the bangers. Some of my favorite clips from the 2022 wedding szn. Fun fact: we filmed & delivered 20 wedding films in 2022! On top of 16 wedding photo galleries and who knows how many portrait sessions. I’m so thankful for another successful season in the books and I’m more than ready to keep the momentum going as the new year begins.
