A friend of mine from Colorado came to visit in May, and as I was working on a proposal for a client, he and I began discussing the cost of wedding flowers. He later told me that it was interesting and that I should put stuff like that on social media. So, here we go!
How much can you expect to pay for medium-sized centerpieces similar in size to these two pastel lovelies? Anywhere between $225 and $550+ depending on the florals. These centerpieces, approximately 12" wide × 14" high, would come in at around $275. Why the lower end? Flower costs. I opted for lovely yet hearty and generally easily accessible blooms such as standard roses, Larkspur, Delphinium, Stock, Waxflower, Lisianthus, Canterbury Bells, Veronica, and spray roses. A few Anemones and Butterfly Ranunculus can also be seen here, generally considered premium blooms (more expensive). Lastly, one very seasonal addition, the darker purple/blue Muscari.
What types of florals would drive up the cost? Well, here are some of the most expensive blooms commonly seen in trending weddings: Peony, Garden roses, Lily of the valley, Orchids, Calla Lily, Protea, Anthurium, Oriental Lily (making a comeback in today's weddings), Ranunculus, Anemone.
So, you may be asking, how do I decide which flowers to use for my clients' weddings? Based on their inspiration photos and their ideal budget, I create a mood board for them. This mood board features examples of the best seasonal blooms available at the time of their wedding, which would create the most beautiful presentation while staying within budget, to give them the wedding of their dreams!
Are you getting married in Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut in 2025 and like this style of design? Well for heaven's sake get in touch and let's talk! 🙂

Ashley and Scott's English garden-inspired nuptials were the most magical kick-off to our 2023 wedding season. Decadent and laced throughout with a handful of local spring blooms in soft pastels including peony, lilac, ranunculus, and tulip. The wedding also featured a gypsophila and rose ceremony arbor with thirty feet of lush aisle meadow. A dream to design! It took me days to come back down afterward. And don't get me started about the vendor team. To say I was honored to rub elbows with these industry stars is an understatement.
So much more lovely in the pipeline...
