Happy Friday Ladies!
Yes weāre still talking about networking. Why? Because networking is a great way to build relationships, lead to collaborations, events, and opportunities for everyone involved.
Everyone isnāt always comfortable networking. It can be intimidating even for the most extroverted people. The great news is, you can learn to network as it is a skill. Sometimes we need to push through. Trust me. I did!
Here are some things that Iāve done to get more comfortable networking. Hopefully this can work for you as well.
- Start Small: When attending events or even out running errands, set a small goal to connect with someone and tell them what you do and ask them what they do.
- Bring a friend: Seeing a familiar face helps for sure. Especially until you feel comfortable stepping out on your own.
-Practice: The mirror, shower, and my car are my practice spaces lol lol. Practice how you can introduce yourself or a conversation starter. It definitely helps to build confidence because you feel more prepared.
- Seek Music focused Events: Itās nothing like being in a room where people are familiar with what you do and on a similar journey. These types of events may be more comfortable for you.
- Create Conversation: Create some conversation Starters surrounding the event, music, or what you do. Get in the habit of letting people know that you are a professional DJ, Sound Artist, Selectorā¦. Let people know what you do! Everyone knows that DJās are Dope!
- Be Confident: Smile, keep your head up, eye contact, and a firm handshake all say Confidence. You got this!!
- Be YOU: You are a unique artist. Embrace your style and let it shine through your interactions. Authenticity is magnetic.
Remember, networking isn't just about what you can get; it's about what you can give as well.
Happy Networking!

I had to learn that my time, expertise, and creativity are valuable and all of this needed to be incorporated into my pricing.
I wish someone would have told me this!!

Embracing the DJ journey has taught me a profound truth..
In the world of music, you have the power to decide your vibe and create a magnetic energy on the dance floor and in your life.
It's not just about playing tracks, it's about curating an experience, setting the mood, and allowing the music to become a direct channel to our mind, body, and souls.
Ladies, What's your vibe today? What song would describe your Vibe?

We have to remember that Self Care is soooo important.
In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to put yourself last on the list.
But remember, self-care is not selfishāit's essential! š Here are a few quick tips to help you carve out some well-deserved "me time" and nurture your mind, body, and soul.
1. Unplug and Unwind: Set aside dedicated moments to detach from technology and give your mind a break. Take a walk in nature, read a book, or indulge in a relaxing bath. Give yourself permission to simply be present and enjoy silence.
2. Move and Groove: Find an exercise routine that brings you joy! Whether it's dancing, yoga, jogging, or hitting the gym, physical activity boosts your mood, increases energy levels, and enhances overall well-being. Embrace those endorphins, Sis!
3. Cultivate Connections: Surround yourself with positive, supportive people who lift you up. Reach out to loved ones for meaningful conversations or plan a girls' night out. Building and nurturing strong connections is vital for your emotional well-being.
4. Pamper Your Skin: Treat yourself to a skincare routine that leaves you feeling refreshed and radiant. Explore nourishing face masks, hydrating moisturizers, and even indulge in a relaxing spa day every now and then. You deserve that healthy glow!
Can you think of any other ways to help you practice Self Care?
Please list them below and tag a friend that needs to see this.

I had asked if she had any tips or advice for DJs and she was definitely on point with this!
We always have to remember that we are our brand and we need to protect our brand.
We also have to remember as a business, we need to conduct ourselves as a business. We need to start off being professional and keep it professional!
We need to have certain things in place to be seen as a business professional in order to be taken seriously.
Unfortunately sometimes people donāt value or respect DJs as they should. Itās time that we change that narrative.
Weāve got this Ladies!!

This quote by Serena Williams is everything!!!
Women should support and cheer each other on our Journeys.
As DJs itās nothing like having a community of like minded women who can relate to you, build with you, and support you on your DJ Journey.
Thatās part of the reason why the Female DJ Association was created.
