What are you doing to help rebuild lives after stroke?
On April 6th 2019 Gez Wilson, supported by Debbie Greening, Caroline Fife and Katie Warrener will all be walking part of the South downs way from Upper Beeding to Chanctonbury Ring and back, an all day walk covering roughly 15 miles door to door,
Not too much of a challenge? For you maybe, but this time 4 years ago Gez was still in a wheelchair after suffering a massive stroke which still leaves her with right side paralysis. With great determination she progressed to being able to walk a few hundred metres using a walking aid. Last September Gez starting using an alpine stick which gives her much improved balance and stability, and has now progressed to being able to manage 6 miles, the furthest she has walked in 4 years!
So to make the 15 mile round trip, climbing up onto the South Downs and back, in whatever the April weather has to bring, is a mammoth challenge!
Gez’s walking crew and support team are great friends for stepping up to assist, and this is as much their own challenge as it is Gez’s.
They all want to complete a personal challenge but in doing so raise as much money as possible for such a great charity.
