Thoughtfully Made

Conceived by husband-and-wife team Rob and Mia in 2018. The Tree Marquee is made from reclaimed FSC-certified UK Douglas fir using traditional timber-framing techniques; the Tree Marquee is portable and is a truly unique, stunning piece of craftsmanship.

With a background in carpentry and farming, Rob’s lifelong love affair with wood, sustainable building techniques and alternative living manifests itself in various forms. From wood-fired hot tubs, chunky outdoor furniture and oak playgrounds, to a restored 17th-century barn. As well as a very modified Land Cruiser and they have also built their own off-grid home.

We are launching the unique Tree Marquee made especially for Holmsted Events this year!

We’ve spent the best part of March preparing the marquee for its first hire since the pandemic ground events/businesses/life to a halt in 2020. There’s been sanding, there’s been oiling, there have been canvas repairs and flat tyres and soggy ground and our hands may fall off over the weekend, but the marquee is sitting pretty on a site we won’t forget in a hurry – the grounds of a Georgian farmhouse (that also hosts Secret Garden Party), surrounded by lakes, a river and landscaped gardens. Huge thanks to the dream team – massive, colossal, mansized thanks. Can’t wait to see her decked out in wedding finery
