Good Morning; we wake up this chilly morning to welcome UKTS Resident and all-round good guy 'Bald Paul' to the EW 2024 roster.

Paul's journey with trance spans decades, ignited by a chance encounter with the Reactivate 5 compilation. Featuring timeless hits like the Jam and Spoon remix of "The Age of Love" and Sil "Blue Oyster," this CD stands as the most influential album in Paul's life, sparking a passion for trance that continues to burn brightly.

Hailing from Somerset, Paul, who used to DJ back in his hairy days, rekindled his passion in 2018. Since then, he's graced the decks for London trance brands Trance Sanctuary, Liberation, Transcend, and All Things Trance, sharing the stage with trance icons like The Thrillseekers, Signum, and Maria Healy.

While Paul's favourite style leans towards the uplifting and euphoric, he also has a soft spot for melancholic tracks like Airbase's "Escape" and Activa's "Disharmonic," as well as emotionally charged tunes like Dave Neven and Nicholas Gunn's "Love You More."

Get ready for a musical journey as Bald Paul takes the main stage on Thursday at the Liquid Malta Club, treating us to some of his favourite tunes of current times.

With only one more sleep to go we are happy to be able to release the set times for the UKTS 10 Year Anniversary Party tomorrow at Tiger Tiger!

We can't wait to dance with you all tomorrow and to celebrate this epic milestone event! 💃🕺

Here are some FAQ's ahead of the event tomorrow!

Q: What time do doors open and when is last entry?
A: Main venue is open from 12.00pm, but LUXE where the event is happening is open from 2.00pm. Last entry is 9.00pm.

Q: Where is the LUXE room located?
A: You will need to head for the Tiger Tiger main entrance, walk along the bar towards the back where the entrance to LUXE is located. A UKTS event admin will be there to scan your ticket and issue you with a wristband.

Q: Will ID be needed?
A: Yes, ID will be needed for entry. So please don’t forget to bring either your driving licence or a passport.

Q: Are pass outs allowed?
A: Your ticket will be exchanged for a paper wristband and if you ever wish to leave the venue for whatever reason, you must show your wristband upon re-entry. Last entry at 9.00pm still applies.

Q: Will there be a cloakroom
A: A cloakroom will be available and the cost will be £5.00 per item. Cash and card are both accepted.

Q: Is the bar cash or card only?
A: The bar will accept both cash and card.

Q: Will there be food available?
A: Food will be available at the venue at the main bar area, but pass out will be allowed if anyone wishes to go outside for food.

Q: Will there be tickets available on the door?
A: No, the event is completely sold out and will be ticket only.

Q: Is there a dress code?
A: Normal club wear is good and any fancy dress for Halloween is also encouraged, we don't want to be the only ones!

UK Trance Society 10th Anniversary Celebration – DJ spotlight

In this DJ spotlight we introduce DJ Bald Paul – when asked why he chose that name he said “I’m not very imaginative and there’s already a Tall Paul and I didn’t really want to be Fat Paul, so why not use my defining feature…. it’s who I am!”

Paul has been listening to trance for decades, stumbling across it by accident after buying the Reactivate 5 compilation purely out of curiosity. Containing seminal hits such as the Jam and Spoon remix of “The Age of Love” and Sil “Blue Oyster”, that CD probably remains the most influential album in Paul’s life and led to a passion for trance that remains unabated to this day.

Paul stumbled across UKTS in a reddit post in 2017 and duly signed up, with Ferry Corsten at Ministry being his first ever meetup. He met Seb and Ann who were both instrumental in helping Paul establish himself as one of UKTS’s more active members, and has found the whole experience life-changing, making lots of new friends and discovering some incredible music.
