When I was a young man growing up I joined the Boy Scouts of America, starting as a Wolf in Cub Scouts. My dad was always heavily involved in scouting with me and so were my friendâs dads with them. It made for a very strong pack, and later troop (3990, numbered after a VFW post that sponsored us). We were well disciplined, structured, got to go on so many camp outs and adventures, and at our peak, were 30 boys strong with almost as many adult leaders. I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2006 (our troop had a 89% Eagle graduation rate) and remained involved until 2008 when I graduated high school. But that wasnât the only reason I quit. The national council decided to cave to woke culture and allow geys and girls into the program, renaming it Scouting of America. Fast forward 20+ years and I tried to get my oldest son into Scouting, but it just wasnât the same. The boys were unruly, unstructured, lacked discipline because the leaders were spineless, there was no parental support and it was an absolute s**t show. I pulled my son out and resigned myself to the fact that, the Boy Scouts of America is dead. And thanks to cowards in the organization who would rather soil their own values than be accused of being âsexistâ or âbigotsâ, my sons will never be able to experience something that was an absolute cornerstone of my childhood and who I became as an adult. So hold fast, stand your ground, and no matter what they call you Kings, donât let them take your spaces from you.
