Lotus & Lettuce aims to inspire flower lovers to help heal the earth one seed and vase at a time. Every plant, flower, and edible I use in my designs I grow organically from seed, bulb, or tuber in soil that I nurture through homemade compost in my gardens. I only source vintage vases because I believe that beauty isn't shiny and new. Inspired by roadside farm stands, Lotus & Lettuce brings local, sustainable beauty to Auburndale.

Thanks for a great season! I’m taking a break from Instagram/Facebook for the near future as I dig up dahlias, prep my beds for winter, and plant spring bulbs. It’s a busy time of year once blooms have ceased — a time for reflection as much as preparation for next year. I cherish this liminal season when I’m alone in my garden, full of thoughts of all I learned and hopes for future growth — literally and figuratively.

Fill your home with garden beauty with ’s custom fabrics, stationary, and so much more! I popped in yesterday to congratulate my floral friend on her new Cambridge store. What an oasis! It’s incredible to see how she transforms photos and sketches of her garden into exquisite home goods. With frost around the corner, I know where to go if I need my garden fix!

It’s almost the weekend! I’m surveying my blooms for Saturday’s final dahlia pop-up at . Here’s a sneak peak of the start of my harvest and some of the beauties that will make the cut. I’m harvesting through tomorrow so stay tuned for more pics. See you Saturday between 8 and noon!

I can’t get enough of these velvet-like dahlias. Bloom hues are becoming deeper and more rich as temperatures cool. We don’t have much time left in the season, so savor them while you can!

How do you feel today? This gorgeous hand painted vase reveals a range of emotions — boisterous joy and calmer contemplation. I used shape, texture, and negative space to emphasize each element.

I’m so lucky to meet other creative souls who love growing and designing with homegrown blooms. I made two contrasting designs to a newfound gardener friend who contacted me when she was downsizing because she didn’t want her lovely vases to be unappreciated. I marveled at her botanical knowledge and spirited soul; now, we trade seed pods, cuttings, and fast-paced conversations about all things garden-related. This is the first design I made her, with more pics to follow.

This weekend, I was honored to create designs to honor the life of ’ mother. They are some of the most meaningful creations I’ve worked on this season. We wanted the flowers to communicate love and life — the altarpiece, in soft, loving hues of pinks/corals and table designs in vibrant, spirited colors, infused with aromatic herbs.

As I worked, I was struck by the symbolism that most of the blooms were grown in my garden that helped create — earlier this summer, she gave me pavers to create a garden path. It’s as if she helped to grow the blooms for her mom. Serendipity.
