We want to remind our community that amidst this there is hope and of the incredible legacy our ancestors have left us. Our ancestors who bravely paved the way before us. Who honorably stood up against racism and fascism and succeeded in their fight for justice and freedom. So we can live in the world that we live in today.
There is still hope because we are part of a strong community that has historically stood together united and we will continue to honour this legacy by standing united together today.
As a community, we always look after each other, and those most vulnerable in our community, know that you are not alone and can reach out to our welfare rep Rabira who has nobly stepped up as a community member offering support for fellow community members who need it. We will not be checking or answering our DMs, but Rabira will be monitoring our email for those who wish to seek support from a fellow community member [email protected] Please be mindful that we can only provide community support in the capacity that we can hold as we are also individuals part of the community being targeted and attacked, and our capacity in offering support and needing support can change at any given time.
Our founder, Atusa Jasmin, has also nobly stepped up in offering a safe place in Lewes for community members to gather during the planned attacks in Brighton on Wednesday 7th August. This is a place of refuge for community members seeking safety far from Brighton on the day. All are asked to bring resources and food to share if they can. Trusted allies who can safely transport people with cars/offer food/resources, get in touch. Please email us for more information in how to access this space.
We highlight the fact that far right fascist thugs will be targeting anyone they deem not white. Please make your own informed decisions about your whereabouts, and know that you are not alone in whatever you decide. We stand with you in solidarity and safety.

Introducing DJ Louise Fidelia representing BAMBOO! 🔥
DJ Louise Fidelia is a freelance BBC Radio Host and multi-genre DJ. She has a weekly residency at the iconic Mash Tun in Brighton, with her very own “House Party” night. She has also played at some of Brighton’s best venues including Concorde and Soho House among others. Louise specialises in African, Caribbean and Latin music and knows how to get a crowd dancing!

Their work focuses on their Algerian upbringing, influenced by Algerian Rai, French and Arabic pop, using music as a vector for cultivating spaces of q***r joy.

Whether this is your first time discovering our DIY community led QTIPOC nights or you have been blessed to join our spaces before, this event is like no other.
Expect a diverse array of mixes from our incredible QTIPOC DJs who will be spinning everything from Afrobeats, Bashment, SWANA, Techno, Fempop and more. This event is run by and for the QTIPOC community, but trusted allies are always welcome.

Last but by no means least in our silent auction series is this exquisite painting made by Andy Best for Atusa's Top Surgery Fundraiser. We are truly lost for words!
Title: To be names by Atusa
The story behind the art: As family friends, Andy knew of Atusa’s Fundraiser for Top Surgery, and as an act of allyship, wanted to support through creating a piece of art that would embody the themes given of ‘Persia’ and ‘Change’.
Andy researched Persian history, and found patterns and mythical creatures that stood out to him. This inspired him to create the butterflies you see on the piece that represent the human process of movement and change. The style of the human characters is a nod to Keith Herring’s art, representing the LGBTQ community.
A surprise within the piece, is hidden within the repetitive circular pattern that emerges from the centre point – can you see what it is?
Artist: Andy Best
Bio: Andy Best is originally from Buckinghamshire, and has lived in London, Hove, and more recently, Lancing. He is a self-taught outsider artist, who has been influenced by music, street art, urban culture, and graphic art.
Andy infuses his work with movement, space and dark humour, preferring materials that support this approach such as acrylics, pastels and collage.
Being resourceful, imaginative, and recycling materials is important for his paintings and furniture, as things that have lived before add life and soul to his work.
Andy’s work has been commissioned by record labels, and bought by interior designers, boutique shops, and to individual collectors.

Blue Guitar 'Epiphone Les Paul SL' in Pacific Blue. This beauty has received minimal play and is in full working order. Checked over and classified to be in "very good condition" with very slight wear when checked over by
Green Guitar 'Fazley' - Hot Rod in Surf Green. From the words of "This guitar is MINT condition, brand new and only got played when I checked it out. I actually had a great time playing this one and NEARLY kept it (but I've got loads of guitars and don't need it, so it's better someone else has it)".
Black/red guitar 'Fazley FLP' in Red To***co Burst. This guitar has had slight use and has a couple of scuffs around the edge of the body and wear along the neck. None of this effects the playability or sound. In Very Good condition.
Guitar Amp Called a 'Vox AD50VT Valvetronix Amplifier'. The amp has 11 amp models and 11 in-built effects. The amp also has a power select k**b on the back to go from 50 Watts all the way down to 1 Watt so can be used for gigging and bedroom use. Pre-loved old and a bit worn but plays well and still sounds good.
