AHEM AHEM!! I’m taking a leap and cohosting with good girlfriend (Shateshia Richards) our first official Lucy X Mavis event, Soca Party Bus Tour!! This will be a fete pregame on wheels through the city of Washington, DC with a single stop to (coat our stomachs) a Caribbean-owned restaurant. Yall already know that everything a I do has a purpose and I want to continue my life’s mission to invest in Black people globally. Welcome to Lucy X Mavis! Here’s a little bit about Rashanna and Shateshia.
Rashanna x Shateshia (Lucy X Mavis) started this travel initiative in 2016 without even knowing. Rashanna invited Shateshia to Barbados for Crop Over to experience this carnival but also to make the connection between Barbadian "Bajan" and the Geechie (Charleston. SC) cultures. Through this experience they bonded over shared language and traditions. They quickly realized that others would benefit from carnival experiences that are rooted in cultural immersion.
