eeeek super excited to share a very special mix I’ve been working on for Mixmag 💛💛

this mix was inspired by some of my fave tunnelling, peak time sets I’ve played to date - namely last year’s Above Below and Fata Morgana Festival - the tracks are new n fresh but I wanted to capture the energy I felt during those moments - the sound drifts between clarity and obscurity, frenetic rhythms and tense ambience - defo my fave textures to weave my way through during the spooky early hours :))

I also had a lovely chat with epic boss Issey Mukake about my entry into music + DJing, my approach to crafting sets + mixes, and the hard-to-define but very much real deep techno / halftime / psy-influenced fast techno scene that I love so much hehe

loads of love to everyone who inspires me + makes this cute lil rapturous scene so lovely🫶

lots of exciting 2023 news to share soon!

In a world where techno has trended towards getting harder, nastier and more in-your-face, Faery’s deeper cuts flow against tide. She speaks to Mixmag about her journey and shares an 80-minute trip of a mix

The UK based artist Faery is the third one to record a wonderful mix for our Herbarium mix series.
She worked with a lot of watery psychedelic textures forming an intriguing hypnotic vibe. Proper grooves support the whole captivating feeling of this episode.
We chose the plant 'Cyclamen Hederifolium' - a flower which blooms around autumn. The petals of this plant have wave-like shapes that strongly remind us of the watery atmosphere in Faery's journey. 💧 It grows best at shaded places where the strong colours of the blossoms glow even stronger. This links the deep atmosphere in combination with those subtle but well crafted sound design details of this mix to the flower in a beautiful way. 🌺
