I don’t even know where to begin with this one. This couple is extra special to me because Madison is my best friend. 🥹 (I guess Gary is pretty cool too. 🤪)

Madison and I met in college and have been inseparable ever since. Having a small role in her Colorado proposal meant the absolute WORLD to me and now I cannot believe it’s time to plan her wedding. There is just something extra special about seeing your bestie’s dreams come true. 🫶🏻 I could not be happier for her!!

Now, the reason you are really here…let’s introduce Gary and Madison to the OG Fam! They started dating in high school and have been together for NINE years. They are one of those couples that everyone wants to be around. They are laid back, fun, always down for an adventure, and truly bring out the best in each other. Let’s get you married, M! 💗🫶🏻

Let’s introduce Karyn and Adam to the OG Fam! 👏🏼

This one is special to me because Karyn is not just any bride, she is a sweet friend of mine! 🫶🏻 I am BEYOND excited (and honored) to have a role in their September wedding. Let’s see if this wedding planner is going to be able to hold back the tears! 😭🥹

Their beautiful June wedding was intimate, meaningful, and full of so much love! The glass chapel was straight out of a DREAM and became the perfect location for their precious ceremony. 🫶🏻 I will forever remember their ceremony where the bride’s sister officiated and absolutely blew it out of the water! Oh, and did I mention the bride made her own cake??Sweetest. Wedding. Ever. 👏🏼

Where do I even begin with this wedding? Sarah and Jake are the DREAM couple! ✨

They were so intentional with every moment of their special day, making sure it would be one that they would remember. They had quality time with each of their guests and one another (something so many couples can struggle to do).

✨ Life Lately ✨

My couples have been keeping me busy and I absolutely LOVE IT! Between wedding planning, candle making, working my full-time job and chasing our foster puppy around, I’ve been a little busy. 🤪 Here’s an update from OG Event Planning..

Let’s welcome Madelyn and Zane to the OG fam!! 🎉

💍 Madelyn and Zane got engaged in Amsterdam in July of 2022 after going on a Heineken tour where they created custom bottles. He proposed on a beautiful bridge as they were “taking pictures.” Madelyn was in absolute and complete shock but filled with overwhelming joy all at the same time. 🥹🫶🏻

💗 Together they enjoy working out, watching all types of movies, cooking, spending time at the lake, playing pickle ball, and playing golf (well he plays and she enjoys sitting in the golf cart cheering him on).

I am beyond excited for their gorgeous wedding this September!! 🥰

It’s time to welcome another fabulous couple to the OG fam!! 🎉

Rachel and Eric met at a running group in Baltimore, where they geeked out over a shared love for Game of Thrones. Although they started dating on a “6 week trial period basis,” 6 weeks turned into 5 years, and this past summer Eric proposed while exploring the western coast of Ireland. 💍 Now in Charlotte, Rachel and Eric love hiking and camping in western NC, and they are super excited to share the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with their friends and family when they get married in August in BOONE! 💗 🏔️

Let’s start by welcoming Jodi and her fiancé, Sean, to the OG family. 👏🏼 Sean proposed to Jodi on a hike during a weekend getaway…on their one year anniversary! 🥹💗 Jodi and Sean enjoy going on walks and hikes, checking/working cows, having sushi dates, and spending quality time with family. I am BEYOND excited to be a part of their special day this summer! 🎉

This week, I skipped the wedding tip in order to wish my parents a Happy Anniversary! 💗 On this day, twenty-seven years ago my parents got married in a small chapel with just their closest family and friends. They are living proof that you don't have to have the biggest, fanciest, most elaborate wedding in order to have the MOST beautiful marriage! 💗💗I am so grateful to have witnessed such a loving, supportive, and Godly marriage growing up. I'm wishing both of you twenty-seven more amazing years!

This week's wedding tip could be controversial but I say...ignore the rules! 👀

I know I've said this a million times, but...it's YOUR special day! You don't want a wedding party? That's fine! You want to switch the sides your family sits on at the ceremony? Let's do it! No garter or bouquet toss? No worries! I am here to make your day exactly how you want it! I will advise you along the way, but at the end of the day, it's whatever YOU decide! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

The trickiest part of planning a wedding can be...choosing your wedding vendors. 🫣 Your photographer, videographer, DJ, wedding planner, officiant, etc are all VERY important people at your wedding! While it is so important that their talents are wonderful, you also want to make sure they are people you will get along with on your wedding day. 🙌🏼Chances are, you are going to spend more time with your photographer than many of your guests!

Now onto the tip...my biggest tip about your vendors is to plan a phone call/zoom call/in- person meeting before booking! 👏🏼

Obviously, you want to know more about the services they offer, the packages they provide, and all the nitty-gritty information, but also just TALK with them! They should want to know about you, your fiance, and your dreams for your wedding. Make sure they are a good fit for your special day and are going to be pleasant to work with throughout the planning process and on the big day! Choose the vendors that will be flexible when you have a last minute idea and are even willing to jump in and fix your hair before the camera flashes! 😉

This week I have TWO wedding tips for you and they are all about GIFTS! 🤩 Odds are, you will get quite a bit of gifts and cards on your wedding day! Let's come up with a plan for them on your big day. 🥰

Tip 1: Put your gift table somewhere guests will pass on their way to the ceremony. Now, I'm not saying you can't save it for the reception, but a lot of guests like to get rid of those presents as soon as they arrive, so that they won't forget! Make it clear that this table is for gifts and cards so they know exactly where to put them. This makes it easier on your guests! 💗

Tip 2: Have a plan for your presents! Is someone taking them to your car? Do you want them all in the bridal suite? Do you need them in your family's car so that they can drop them off at your home while you are on your honeymoon? The last thing you want to be thinking as you exit your wedding is...WHERE ARE THE GIFTS?? Save yourself some trouble and go ahead and make a plan. 👏🏼

It’s time to welcome Kaitlin and her fiancé, Mason to the OG fam! 👏🏼👏🏼 They are going to have the most beautiful wedding this September and I am so grateful to be a part of it!! Let me tell you a little bit about this precious couple’s engagement story, because it is a DREAM! 😍😍

Mason’s family had a family photography session planned, so Kaitlin and Mason were already planning on getting some couples portraits done (which was a perfect plan to get the most beautiful proposal pictures)! Here comes the best part of the story…right before these photos, Mason and Kaitlin were putting in an offer on their FIRST HOME! By the end of the evening, Kaitlin became a fiancé AND a home owner. 🥹💗👏🏼 Mason proposed down by his aunt’s pond before a downpour began. Their photographer was there to capture it all! Y’all know how I feel about rainy proposals from personal experience! 🥹🥹🥹 It won’t be long and Kaitlyn and Mason will be MARRIED!! I am so excited for this couple’s special day! 💗

This week's wedding tip is for my outdoor wedding girls! 🌸🌷Outdoor weddings are magical. ✨ I never thought that I would be brave enough to have an outdoor wedding myself, but I sure did!

The first thing that most outdoor wedding brides ask during their venue tour is "What is the rain plan?" 🌧️ This is such an important question to ask, but let me give you another question that is equally as important: "Where will the sun set?" Let me explain!

I learned this tip from my friend and amazingly talented photographer, Ashley. An outdoor wedding can be the most beautiful and romantic setting, but not if the sun is in your eyes the whole time! ☀️ If your venue has multiple ceremony locations, be sure to ask where the sun sets at the time of year you are getting married. This will help you decide which location would be best for you! Depending on the time of your ceremony, this may not be important, but a lot of brides get married around 4:00/5:00 right when the sun could be directly in your eyes. Now, don't sweat it. There are a lot of ways to prevent it, just be sure to ask so that you can find a solution before the big day! 💗

It’s time for the last wedding tip of the month! 🥳 Let's talk about a meal plan. You have been planning how to feed all of your guests, but what about you and your HUSBAND?

Here are some things to think about…

🍽️If you are doing a buffet/dinner stations, do you want to go get your food yourself?

🍽️Do you want your planner to make your plate with a little bit of everything?

🍽️ Do you want to eat at the reception along with your guests or do you want a private first meal with your spouse?

🍽️ Will you be the first to eat (YES PLEASE)!

🍽️ Will guests be able to come and socialize with you while you try to eat?

These are all very important questions to ask yourself before the big day. Odds are, you are paying a good chunk of money for the food, be sure to enjoy it! 😋

Now here’s the tip…after thinking about this list, express your concerns to your planner and they will be sure that you are able to enjoy your first meal as a married couple. I have made plates for the bride and groom, ushered away guests that would not leave them alone while they ate, and even set up a private first meal. Remember, it’s YOUR DAY!! 💗💗

Extra Tip: Make sure someone makes you and your husband a to go plate. Trust me, you will be hungry again by the end of the night! 👏🏼👏🏼

Let's talk...photos! 📸 I would argue that one of the most important vendors you hire will be your photographer. The photos your photographer will capture are ones that you will look back at for a lifetime. 🤩You want them to bring back all of those special memories! What you may not realize, is that there are a lot more photos you will want than just ones on your wedding day!

Here are some photography sessions you may want to consider booking leading up to (and following) your big day. 💗

1. Engagement Photos 💍
A lot of people use their engagement photos for their Save the Dates as well as their wedding website. Not to mention, posting for all of their friends and family to enjoy. This is a great time to get comfortable in front of the camera with your partner and get to know your photographer! Trust me, you will be working with them a lot throughout this process.

2. Bridal Portraits 👰🏼‍♀️
If you've been here awhile, you know my opinion on bridal portraits, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM! It is the absolute perfect opportunity to try out your hair, makeup, outfit, etc. I highly recommend booking bridal portraits before your big day! Bring your mom, your maid of honor, or someone else special to you, and get all glammed up!

3. Of course, Wedding Day Photos! 💒
This is an obvious! You are going to want to look back on this special day for ever and ever!

4. Lifestyle Photos 🏡
Look at my previous Wedding Tip Wednesday to see exactly what I mean, but who doesn't want pictures of the life you have built with your partner in those first few months?

5. Last, but not least...Anniversary Photos! 🫶🏻
That one year anniversary is a milestone, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Book an anniversary session with your photographer to reminisce on your first year as a married couple!

Woohoo, let’s end the week with a little ! 💗🥳

It’s time for you to meet another part of our team, Murphy Jo! 🐾 💗 Let’s start with the fun fact…my husband and I got married in April of 2022 and we both KNEW we would spend the first year of marriage with no kids and no pets. Well, half of that was true! 😂

Murphy was the perfect addition to our sweet little fam. I actually found him (on Facebook 🤪) on a Friday and we picked him up the next afternoon. What can I say, me and my husband sure do love our pets! 💗😂 In case you are interested…here are a few fun facts about Murphy…

🐾 He was born on Christmas Day 2022! We actually have 2 holiday babies. Brody was born on Valentines Day!

🐾 He is a mini golden doodle who loves sticks, tennis balls, his splash pad, and being active!

🐾 He LOVES when I have clients over for a meeting before their special day. He thinks they are here for the sole purpose of loving on him! 🤪
