It’s time to welcome another precious couple to the OG fam! 👏🏼

Trevor proposed to Charlotte on Christmas Eve 2022. After years of friendship and on-and-off talking, he finally gathered the courage to ask her out, despite believing she was out of his league. Six years later, they’re thrilled to take this next step together. They enjoy playing ping pong, competing at arcades, spending time with friends, family, and their two fur babies, and making memories for Charlotte’s scrapbooks. 🥹🩷

I cannot wait for Charlotte and Trevor’s beautiful fall wedding at Caitlyn Farms! 🎉

Ever wonder where the name OG Event Planning came from? Let me tell you! 🥹

One of my favorite moments from our wedding day: the joining of two families. It’s also where the inspiration for OG Event Planning comes from! The 'O' represents my married name, and the 'G' is a nod to my maiden name.

Together, they symbolize the merging of the most important people in my life. It is two parts of who I am, brought together just like our families. Every wedding or event I plan, holds that same love and connection, and I can’t wait to help create these same moments for you. 💗🫶🏻

✨ Madison + Gary ✨

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. This couple is extra special to me because Madison is my best friend. 🥹 (I guess Gary is pretty cool too. 🤪)

Madison and I met in college and have been inseparable ever since. Having a small role in her Colorado proposal meant the absolute WORLD to me and now I cannot believe it’s time to plan her wedding. There is just something extra special about seeing your bestie’s dreams come true. 🫶🏻 I could not be happier for her!!

Now, the reason you are really here…let’s introduce Gary and Madison to the OG Fam! They started dating in high school and have been together for NINE years. They are one of those couples that everyone wants to be around. They are laid back, fun, always down for an adventure, and truly bring out the best in each other. Let’s get you married, M! 💗🫶🏻

This one is special to me because Karyn is not just any bride, she is a sweet friend of mine! 🫶🏻 I am BEYOND excited (and honored) to have a role in their September wedding. Let’s see if this wedding planner is going to be able to hold back the tears! 😭🥹

Their beautiful June wedding was intimate, meaningful, and full of so much love! The glass chapel was straight out of a DREAM and became the perfect location for their precious ceremony. 🫶🏻 I will forever remember their ceremony where the bride’s sister officiated and absolutely blew it out of the water! Oh, and did I mention the bride made her own cake??Sweetest. Wedding. Ever. 👏🏼

Where do I even begin with this wedding? Sarah and Jake are the DREAM couple! ✨

They were so intentional with every moment of their special day, making sure it would be one that they would remember. They had quality time with each of their guests and one another (something so many couples can struggle to do).

✨ Life Lately ✨

My couples have been keeping me busy and I absolutely LOVE IT! Between wedding planning, candle making, working my full-time job and chasing our foster puppy around, I’ve been a little busy. 🤪 Here’s an update from OG Event Planning..

Let’s welcome Madelyn and Zane to the OG fam!! 🎉

💍 Madelyn and Zane got engaged in Amsterdam in July of 2022 after going on a Heineken tour where they created custom bottles. He proposed on a beautiful bridge as they were “taking pictures.” Madelyn was in absolute and complete shock but filled with overwhelming joy all at the same time. 🥹🫶🏻

💗 Together they enjoy working out, watching all types of movies, cooking, spending time at the lake, playing pickle ball, and playing golf (well he plays and she enjoys sitting in the golf cart cheering him on).

I am beyond excited for their gorgeous wedding this September!! 🥰

Carter proposed to Taylor in Charleston! He even had all of her friends and family surprise her at the engagement. 🥹 They spent the evening celebrating on a rooftop bar with dinner! 🥂

It’s time to welcome another fabulous couple to the OG fam!! 🎉

Rachel and Eric met at a running group in Baltimore, where they geeked out over a shared love for Game of Thrones. Although they started dating on a “6 week trial period basis,” 6 weeks turned into 5 years, and this past summer Eric proposed while exploring the western coast of Ireland. 💍 Now in Charlotte, Rachel and Eric love hiking and camping in western NC, and they are super excited to share the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with their friends and family when they get married in August in BOONE! 💗 🏔️

Let’s start by welcoming Jodi and her fiancé, Sean, to the OG family. 👏🏼 Sean proposed to Jodi on a hike during a weekend getaway…on their one year anniversary! 🥹💗 Jodi and Sean enjoy going on walks and hikes, checking/working cows, having sushi dates, and spending quality time with family. I am BEYOND excited to be a part of their special day this summer! 🎉

This week, I skipped the wedding tip in order to wish my parents a Happy Anniversary! 💗 On this day, twenty-seven years ago my parents got married in a small chapel with just their closest family and friends. They are living proof that you don't have to have the biggest, fanciest, most elaborate wedding in order to have the MOST beautiful marriage! 💗💗I am so grateful to have witnessed such a loving, supportive, and Godly marriage growing up. I'm wishing both of you twenty-seven more amazing years!

This week's wedding tip could be controversial but I say...ignore the rules! 👀

I know I've said this a million times, but...it's YOUR special day! You don't want a wedding party? That's fine! You want to switch the sides your family sits on at the ceremony? Let's do it! No garter or bouquet toss? No worries! I am here to make your day exactly how you want it! I will advise you along the way, but at the end of the day, it's whatever YOU decide! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

The trickiest part of planning a wedding can be...choosing your wedding vendors. 🫣 Your photographer, videographer, DJ, wedding planner, officiant, etc are all VERY important people at your wedding! While it is so important that their talents are wonderful, you also want to make sure they are people you will get along with on your wedding day. 🙌🏼Chances are, you are going to spend more time with your photographer than many of your guests!

Now onto the tip...my biggest tip about your vendors is to plan a phone call/zoom call/in- person meeting before booking! 👏🏼

Obviously, you want to know more about the services they offer, the packages they provide, and all the nitty-gritty information, but also just TALK with them! They should want to know about you, your fiance, and your dreams for your wedding. Make sure they are a good fit for your special day and are going to be pleasant to work with throughout the planning process and on the big day! Choose the vendors that will be flexible when you have a last minute idea and are even willing to jump in and fix your hair before the camera flashes! 😉

This week I have TWO wedding tips for you and they are all about GIFTS! 🤩 Odds are, you will get quite a bit of gifts and cards on your wedding day! Let's come up with a plan for them on your big day. 🥰

Tip 1: Put your gift table somewhere guests will pass on their way to the ceremony. Now, I'm not saying you can't save it for the reception, but a lot of guests like to get rid of those presents as soon as they arrive, so that they won't forget! Make it clear that this table is for gifts and cards so they know exactly where to put them. This makes it easier on your guests! 💗

Tip 2: Have a plan for your presents! Is someone taking them to your car? Do you want them all in the bridal suite? Do you need them in your family's car so that they can drop them off at your home while you are on your honeymoon? The last thing you want to be thinking as you exit your wedding is...WHERE ARE THE GIFTS?? Save yourself some trouble and go ahead and make a plan. 👏🏼
