“As a recent graduate at Brighton University studying fashion design with business studies, my graduate collection concept focused on sustainability and the re purpose of unused fabrics.
My collection involved using recycled materials such as coffee sacks and parachutes to investigate and reimagine designs based around the silhouette of the hood.”
Oona is our other lead dresser and has been endless help throughout the planning process. Thanks Oona!💘

A.T.A is set in a futuristic London where the Thames has flooded and people are forced to navigate through semi-submerged walkways. The garments are designed for wading through water, with a top-heavy silhouette. The silhouette and drape are informed by the traditional gala dress of Newhaven fisherwomen.
Whilst details are drawn from marine apparel. Materials for the collections are sourced from post-consumer waste, old tents, damaged wetsuits and seatbelts from scrapped cars. And production waste, PVC offcuts from sail manufacturers, and donated deadstock materials.
Amy is also one of our lead dressers across the weekend!

An artwear supporter since day dot (and fellow Welshie🤩🏴), we can’t wait to see their new creations on the runway
Rosie Evans is the eponymous 'High Fantasy' luxury fashion label, creating one off and small runs of anachronistic historically inspired fashion, following the ethical practise of upcycling old textiles and materials.
Sustainability and the ethos of recycling runs through the heart of the brand and Rosie works solely using 'Fabrics with a past'. 1950s hand embroidered table cloths, old silk curtains and patchwork scrap fabric make up the bulk of her collections. As well as working to save fabric waste, Rosie also collects plastic fruit packaging tape from the Cardiff food market to use as boning for all the corsets and dresses; deadstock shoe laces are also reused for fastenings.
The designs themselves fit the everyday fantasy that Rosie has created: a cross between historical costume, wearable 00s fashion, ball gowns sewn from bandanas, Elizabethan style corset bodices made from tea towels, and patchworked wrap micro mini skirts. Inspired by her home land of South Wales and the poets and artists that hail from there, each piece has a sense of anarchic heritage - a flirty and humorous look at culture of the past.

Hi here - I've been co-producing the runway shows with Abi for Brighton's first SFW event!!
Our aim for these shows is to be fashions inclusive, safe space while promoting sustainable fashion brands and celebrating Brighton's unique and diverse fashion community.
When I'm not running around putting on a sustainable fashion show I run my own business - Marren Hager Fashion Services - supporting sustainable fashion brands in Brighton, LA and New York with their pattern cutting, tech design and e-commerce

Cat O'Brien is a historically inspired, sustainable slow fashion brand based in Brighton.
“I aim to think of sustainable options throughout the entire design process, starting with ensuring fabrics are always secondhand or deadstock to combat fabric waste. I started my brand after graduating with a fashion degree from UCA Epsom, and having done internships in the industry I knew I wanted to combat waste when it came to my own brand.”
