Less is more this Tuesday... Except for your MGMT 👌👔

For the last day of pool play we're going to try something new to.. incentivize your management to get in the sand.

For every manager that comes and gets out there on the sand DRESSED IN FULL MGMT ATTIRE, your team will get an automatic +2 points to start your game. These managers can be rotated in but they must complete a full rotation. Can't wait to get pics of this one 🤘

We'll be joined by tequila and our friends & they're bringing the ice bath again!

This is also a reminder that the playoffs are on June 18th and you must play with 💯 of your bar - no outside substitutions! Make sure you rally your A squad!

Registration for the 2024 season starts FRIDAY March 1st & we have room for 32 bars 🎇

Rules / registration will be at Battlebeaches.com

Last year we filled registration of 24 bars in only two weeks. This year we opened registration to 32, but we expect it to go just as fast.

We'll be coming by most of the downtown bars this Thursday to talk to your bar managers. We don't want you guys paying out of pocket! You only make $2.13 an hour 😉

No seriously we want to have that conversation with your bar. Most of the bars in the past have paid for their own staff to play, which we take pride in. This event is about giving back to the staff here in Nashville, after all!

Please note that it is strictly bar vs bar format - no non-bar or individual teams allowed.

It has been a busy couple of weeks for me between bartending and prepping for the Battle but every now and again it's important to stop and smell the roses.  

Let me share with you what them roses smell like 🌹

I've been working on Broadway now for almost 8 years, and in 2017 I witnessed first hand the exponential growth of the service industry in Nashville.  I also saw a huge gap in an industry that is built on relationships, and one day in early spring in Nashville I started planning a way to build a stronger hospitality community within 'new Nashville'.

The first three years of what was formally called 'Battle of the Bars' were TOUGH.  

The first year 'Battle of the Bars' had 11 teams and around 120 people engaged in something unfamiliar and foreign in Nashville.  I was HOUNDING bar managers and bartenders at different places to sign their bar up.  I remember running into every bar and asking for a bar manager and desperately trying to explain to them how important connection to the rest of the industry was: "These guys make $2.13 an hour and make your company millions.  Give them some appreciation". 

The first 3 years of BotB I paid out of pocket for.  I've never looked at this project as a business endeavor. Ever. And I still don't. The Battle on the Beach was created to build community within our industry in Nashville, TN, and that will always be #1.

The last two years have been exciting, to say the least. The fruits of labor have blossomed to something that I had never ever expected when I first started this 5 years ago.  Last year we expanded to 24 teams.  We opened registration February 1st and closed it February 29th. 2023 we opened signups and just under two weeks we were full, with more teams wanting to participate.

I say this in absolute humility and gratitude to the people that are and have been a part of the Battle. To all the people that are eager to help, to our partners that value Nashville service industry people, and to Leah, owner of The Sandbar, in believing me when I approached her 5 years ago - thank you.

Let's blow this season out of the fu**in park 🤘

TOURNAMENT TIME

Athletes check your email for the standings and format. There are 22 teams playing ONE game of single elimination till the semifinals, then it will be match play. 16 teams are required to be there at 1pm sharp.

In light of the finals we have a huge giveaway to throw out on socials: a .usa BIKE and a massive cooler on wheels. TWO people will win the prizes. All prizes for all gear will be announced at the tournament Tuesday.
