DIY WRESTLING IS COMING TO HAL-CON!

We’re back with our next show and it’s going to be BIG!

Hal-Con will host the DIY Gold Rush Tournament, with the winner being crowned the inaugural DIY Wrestling Champion!

Come cheer your favourites, jeer your least favourites, and have a great time at Eastern Canada’s largest sci-fi convention!

Admission is included with the purchase of a Friday pass!

The bell will ring to start the tournament at 1:00pm!

Due to another unfortunate injury, we will be making one more update to our match card for Friday.

Carter Mason has suffered a concussion, and despite not being cleared to wrestle, he will be on hand to take in the event and scout potential future opponents.

Taking his place will be none other than the monstrous DUCE!

Duce and Rudy Lockhart squared off at the last DIY event in a triple threat match where Rudy picked up the victory.

Will lightning strike twice for the exciting youngster, or will the brute force of Duce be enough to push him to victory?!

POWER OUT. NEWHOOK IN.

No this is not a Nova Scotia Power notice (although it’s a beautiful day, so an outage wouldn’t be surprising).

Unfortunately, Max Power suffered an injury over the weekend at a UCW event, and will be unable to perform this Friday.

Thankfully, we know somebody who’s always down for a fight!

“The Newfoundland Nightmare” Justin Newhook has signed on to face “Highlander” Robbie MacAllister in what is sure to be a hard nosed brawl between two of the top talents in the region.

If you don’t have tickets yet, you should get them now because this match has potential to steal the show!

DIY WRESTLING II - TROY’S LAST MATCH

After an 18 year career spanning numerous countries and continents, “Dream Killer” Troy Merrick is ending his career at the historic Sanctuary Arts Centre in beautiful Downtown Dartmouth!
Come see Dream Killer one last time as he teams with Ronnie Payne to take on the nefarious “King of Maritime Wrestling” JP Simms and his dastardly manager Mr. David A. Boyce in a STREET FIGHT!

Boyce and Simms have been a thorn in the sides of both Merrick and Payne, and now they’ll have a chance to gain a measure of revenge at the Sanctuary Arts Centre!

Also on the card will be WWE Alumni “Highlander” Robbie MacAllister, Jonathan Cross, NY’s favorite son Carter Mason, and many more!

Here are some early Programming Highlights for Hal-Con 2024!

Join us on Friday for a thrilling start with DIY Wrestling the adventurous Dorks in Dungeons a dazzling Burlesque show, and the prestigious Discovery Gala.

Saturday promises even more excitement with Actor Guest Q&As, another round of Dorks in Dungeons, the energetic Geek Bounding, and the Hal-Con Dance with DJ Skills to keep you moving all night long.

On Sunday, wrap up your Hal-Con experience with more Actor Guest Q&As, the Costume Contest, and our Closing Ceremonies.

We're making some exciting changes to our schedule this year. This is just a taste of what’s to come – stay tuned for the full schedule release in October!

DIY II on June 7th is sure to be a belter, as these are two hungry competitors both with something to prove!

Dawson James has unleashed a vicious side in recent months and seemingly won’t let up until he reaches the top of the mountain in Maritime wrestling.

Jonathan Cross has been on a roll and building great momentum. The winner of the first ever DIY main event wants to keep his good fortune going with a big win next month.

These two competitors both have a lot on the line. Who will walk away the winner?
