Over a thousand people attended!

Since I've been encouraged to manifest, I'm just going to leave this here as a little reminder for myself. It's a long list, but if I've learned anything over the last several years, it's best to be clear about what you want and need upfront. It is an evolving list.

• I want a safe, calm love.
• I want to feel safe, seen, and cherished.
• I want gentle honesty to be a core tenet for them.
• I want to laugh. A lot.
• I want music to be in the air. Always.
• I want trust in each other to be the highest expression of our love.
• I want a person who can express their needs openly and also understands that I am not responsible for meeting every need, so seeks ethical ways to take care of themselves.
• I want to meet someone who sees gentleness as a strength.
• I want open, calm communication.
• I want to hold myself accountable for my mistakes, apologize to those I hurt, and work to change the behavior that led to the mistake.
• I want to be involved with a person who also holds themselves. accountable, apologizes, and commits to doing the work to change the behavior.
• I want to meet someone who is capable of voicing hurt, fear, displeasure, and challenges they are facing or might have with me with clear communication, even if that requires some time to get to.
• I want a companion with whom I have enough common interests to share and enough different interests to learn from them.
• I want to meet someone who has and maintains deep and lasting friendships/family relationships and prioritizes those relationships in the best balance with ours.
• I want them to show up for me the way they show up for their people and show up for their people the way they show up for me.
• Consistency counts.
• I seek someone who faces challenges and fears with courage and resiliency.
• I want to meet someone who sees themself as a whole, grown person, but a continuously learning and improving one and maintains their sense of self in relationships.
• I want to meet someone who is committed to and nourishes the connection between us and is willing to put the work in to keep the connection healthy and strong.
• I want to meet someone who sees the ability to be vulnerable as a superpower and not a liability, trusts me with their vulnerability, and makes me feel safe enough to trust them with mine.
• I want to meet someone who sees moving through the world from a position of love as the most spiritual achievement possible.
• I want to meet someone who strives to bring their best self to every human encounter they have including me.
• I want to meet someone who is generous with their love, their kindness, and their grace with everyone in their sphere and every encounter.
• I want to meet someone who is authentically themself and seeks authenticity in others.
• I want to meet someone who defines relationships by the person and not the roles.
• I want to meet someone who supports and celebrates my wins and supports and comforts me through my losses.
• I want to meet someone who believes that lovers also need to be friends and puts as much effort into the friendship as they do the intimacy.
• I want them to be young at heart, wise in their soul, and always curious about people, places, and things regardless of their chronological age.
• I want to genuinely like them as much as I love them.
• I want to meet someone who sees affection as an important daily act of love.
• I want to meet someone who understands that intimacy is more than s*x and regularly practices the little intimacies that sustain a relationship.

I am asking for the moon, but I will show up with the stars.

So, there was a psychic fair at the festival yesterday and I got a reading. First card was the Magician. She said that this means whatever I put my mind to I succeed at and that it's important to keep in mind that my worries and fears can also be manifested as well, so I should definitely put more effort into the positive things I want to happen.

So I did. Glitterbox is a Ibiza party sponsored and embedded in a record label called Defected. They are q***r and bipoc focused and throw amazing parties.

What I circled in the pic is me actively manifesting an opportunity to play for them.

I'm also starting to manifest a business manager/agent to help me get paying club or festival gigs.

Whoever it is will need to be invested 100% in my success, because investing in my success will be investing in their own success.

I am a "a rising tide lifts all boats" kind of person and will legitimately spread the wealth.

So anyone who seriously wants to help me become famous, DM me.

Here's something I haven't done in awhile: a Trap set. Trap is a sub-genre of Southern hip hop that's come into it's own. Trap refers to "trap houses," a drug dealing location.

Now people use trap beats to remix other tracks as well. It has complex hi-hat beats and snare drum rhythms. The beats per minute are varied but tend toward the 70s and 130 and higher.

Fun fact: did you know that you can beat match a low bpm with a high bpm? As long as they are exactly double or exactly half, you can do it. So, I can move back and forth between 70 bpm and 140 if I want.

Well, tonight, Monday, May 8, I'm gonna give those rhythms a try (they can't be more complex than East Indian rhythms right? 😊).

Tune in on at 7pm to 9pm to hear the set live and anytime after for the uploaded recording.

Another fun fact: I have more than 200 hours of sets uploaded in almost 40 different genres onto Mixcloud. Literally, there is something for everyone. Follow me and listen at www.mixcloud.com/DJAuld

After four days without power, I wasn't sure I'd be able to livestream tonight.

BUT I AM! So, check the show out tonight! It is a psy-trance (or psychedelic trance) and Goa Trance night.

This is a driving, relentless beat type of trance at high bpms (into the 150 beats per minute) with occasional oasis of lyricism and calm.

Lots coming up this week!

Pic #1: TONIGHT I'm interviewing the legendary , Bay Area DJ, who is returning to the decks on the regular in the next few months! Her club nights The Box and Q at the Kennel Club in the 80s and 90s were diverse and drew people from all walks of life.

Pic #2: Monday night, February 6th, 7-9pm Eastern US check out a brand new . I'm excited to add a new genre to my arsenal . Vinahouse is a Vietnamese/Cambodian House genre that is high energy and sonically powerful. Check it out!

Pic #3: Cat's Juke Joint Ep.002 will drop Wednesday 7-8pm. I'm debating between some of my favorite female blues artists or tracks from two of my favorite albums: "Sketches of Spain" or "Night in Tunisia." Either way, it will be fun!

22/01/2023

So yesterday, I spent four hours familiarizing myself with the type of dj equipment that I'll find in clubs and at festivals around the world, because, yes, I will be an international DJ (a little morning manifesting here 😊).

And, I did pretty well actually for my first time. It helped that I have a dj controller (Pioneer DDJ-400) and a couple of less expo "CDJs" media players (Pioneer XDJ-700s) l, but there were still some little things I'd like to adjust that I have to dig deeper into the manuals to sort out.

Still, it was so much fun! And Grove Studios is so reasonably priced that I know for sure, I'll be back anytime I have a big set coming up, just for the practice.

Plus, we found a hole in the wall Morracan restaurant that was delicious!

I always say that I have a million dreams and if I realize a thousand of them, I'm still ahead of the curve. That said, realizing them requires putting in the work to make them happen.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, with a few exceptions due to life events, I have done something related to DJing or making music every week.

This year, my entire focus is getting in front of live people on a regular basis. Mostly in clubs and less (but not entirely ruled out) mobile. I have the equipment for mobile, but I'm 63 years old and live and store my equipment on the second floor of my building. Carrying that stuff up and down stairs and in and out of venues is hard. I do it. But, it's tough and it's not sustainable. Carrying a USB stick or a laptop and controller in is much, much easier 🤣🤣🤣.

Be forewarned that bringing my whole set up will add to the price of any mobile gig.

So excited to spend FOUR hours with club level equipment today .studios.

Already their customer service was great when I needed to reschedule due to some travel plans. It was so easy and quick. It's always great when you get a "no problem" from a business in today's climate.

I've downloaded the manuals to the equipment. I've prepped my usb stick with some and some and am ready to practice.

There will be some trials for sure, but I hope that by the end of the four hours, I'll have settled in and things are going smoothly.

Due to the reasonable studio prices, I can come practice sets anytime I have a club or festival gig scheduled, so that there are fewer surprises.

And, as I move into music production or want to level up on my podcast production, they have just as reasonably priced spaces available too.

If you live in Mid-Michigan/Southeast Michigan and you are a musician, DJ, or Podcaster .studios could be your lifeline, especially for folks just starting out.

Because I have DJay Pro and because I have a Reloop Mixon-4 that works with DJay Pro, I'll be prepping in the air 😊.
