Denver Drone Co. is happy to announce that there will be a 2020 Colorado Wildfire Awareness Drive and Fund-Racer taking place via Twitch and YouTube live stream on Saturday December 12th! You are invited to join us by submitting a bracket with the pilots you think will win and watch the race live stream from 12:30pm-3pm MST! Throughout the stream we will be highlighting some of the organizations, efforts and assistance programs helping Colorado and it's residents to recover from this historic fire season. Please share your story with us in live chat, on the day of the race, with others affected by these fires. We look forward to racing with you and making this a successful opportunity to bring awareness to some great organizations.

I failed to mention an honorary winner in the last post about the Indoor Indoor Series! My apologies to CrashFPV (TrashCrash on multigp just to clarify which CrashFPV I'm talking about) who successfully bumped up from enthusiast to the advanced class at the midway point of the series when we performed a requalification. This was due to a rapid increase in skill. Crash was involved with motocross before getting into drone racing and so once he got used to the simulator and the stick control, the racing side of it came very quickly. Congratulations Crash! That was incredible to watch!

Congratulations to our podium finishers from both classes and a huge thank you to all the pilots, viewers and sponsors that made this series a genuine blast to be a part of! In third place in the enthusiast class was Brian "SourPower" Saurmann. Even though he missed the last two races worth double points, he had a large enough lead that he kept the third place spot! In second place was Dave "Slippy" Gibson, who showed an awesome amount of technical flying skill throughout the series! First place goes to Adam "Okuru" Nowak, one of the few pilots who flew in acro mode for a majority of the races, and showed us the advantage of being able to really open up the throttle in the straightaways! In third place for the advanced class was Jay "PeepFPV" Pro, a very generous pilot who designed one of the tracks for the series and donated matching props to distribute as prizes for the podiums of each class! Second place goes to Cameron "CameronFPV" Denesha, a young pilot who raced very consistently to earn his spot on the podium! And the overall winner of the first Indoor Indoor Simulator Series sponsored by The Other Guys - Colorado Drone Racing, CBD Jane's and Remote Control Hobbies Smoky Hill is Max "MPMiller" Miller, an even younger pilot who's piloting skills could be likened to that of a robot's ability and is truly, truly an impressive sight to watch! Thank you again to everybody who participated! We'll see you again next time!

In the enthusiast class, third place will receive a MenaceRC Invader Patch Antenna! Second place will receive a TBS Unify Race VTX! And first place will receive a T-Motor Flight Controller as well as $50! In the advanced class, third place will take home a Hobbywing Flight Controller! Second place will walk away with a Betaflight F7 flight controller! And the winner of the advanced class will go home with bragging rights, a FlightClub Proton Frame, and $100! In addition, all of the winning pilots will receive a Denver Drone Company hat and t-shirt, as well as a set of propellers (donated by PeepFPV!) Attention pilots! A little clarification on the qualifiers for the indoor, indoor sim series! Qualifiers will be run blind. We have not announced a track for this reason. Learning the track is part of the overall pilot skills that we are using to place pilots in classes. You will join a lobby with an organizer and any other pilots who have opted to qualify at the same time as you, and will have 5 attempts to learn the track and put down your best time. Your fastest time will then dictate which class you are placed in, novice or advanced. In addition, I will hold a qualifier on monday 4/20 at 6 P.M. for those who wish to race but have not signed up for a qualifier. You can register by reserving a spot on our facebook event or by emailing pilot handle and a date/time that you are available to run your qualifier to [email protected]

Here are the finalized rules for our Simulator Racing Series! We are excited to begin holding events in this format! Let's make it a fun experience that anybody can participate in!

1. There is a limit of 7 pilots per heat.

2. The series will consist of 8 races and a qualifier trial.

3. There will be two classes and the qualifier will determine placement.

4. This sim series will take place on VelociDrone and will use the micro class DLC. (Total cost is about 25. 20 for the sim and 5 for the micro DLC.)

5. There will be NO entry fee to this series.

6. Prizes will be awarded to the overall podium in both classes.

7. Pilots will be awarded points for 1st 2nd and 3rd place for each heat as well as 1st 2nd and 3rd for the overall standings at the end of a day's events.

8. Podium placement points will double for races 7 and 8.

9. Races will take place on Tuesday and Friday nights.

10. Qualifiers may be run any time in the week prior to the series beginning, and failure to run a qualifier trial will result in a disqualification.

11. Friendly competition is allowed, however unsportsmanlike conduct will be ground for disqualification.

12. There will be a discord server where pilots are divided into chat rooms based on which heat they are in.

13. These events will be live streamed. Not really a rule, just more of something to keep in mind.

14. Pilots are allowed to use any of the micro quads available with the DLC.

15. The deadline for registration is Tuesday night 4/14.

16. Qualifiers will begin immediately after registration closes, starting on Wednesday 4/15.

17. The series itself will begin the following Tuesday, 4/21.

18. The qualifier track as well as the track for the first event will be selected by Denver Drone Co.

19. The tracks for races 7-8 will be selected by the previous event's expert class winner.

20. DDC will review the tracks selected by competitors and announce them the day following an event.

21. If a winner chooses not to or fails to select a track by the following day, then DDC will select a track to keep things moving.

22. Registration is completed by sending your pilot name, and preferred qualifier time, to [email protected]

It's time to sign up if you are interested in competing in our simulator racing series! We will be using velocidrone for this series and will be focused primarily on the whoop DLC! It feels like false advertising to run 5 inch simulator races since we haven't held one outdoors yet as a company! Please email your pilot name to [email protected] to show your interest! As of right now there is no limit to the amount of pilots that can join. If it starts to be a rather large number then we will switch over to a team racing format for time's sake! We look forward to giving this a shot! We hope to hold more events like this in the future!

If you are just getting into drones, there are a couple of simulators available for you to try before you buy! (Especially since we cant technically get outside to fly currently!) This competition takes place on the DRL simulator, the official simulator of the DRL. If you're looking for a free option then definitely check out flowstate! Attention pilots itching for some races! Or just pilots in general! We will be announcing a simulator racing series very soon! These races will take place twice a week and the series will consist of 8 races, calling for a 4 week long competition! Free entry and a prize pool consisting of drone parts for the top 3 competitors! Race structure will be decided when we see how many pilots would like to participate. We are deciding between solo or team racing, and it will depend on how many pilots we have register! Stay safe and healthy out there everyone! Hello pilots! After much discussion, we here at Denver Drone Co have decided that it would be best to postpone our races until further notice. We feel as though it is best to hold off in an attempt to do our part to "flatten the curve." This just means limiting the potential to spread sickness to those around you. We are in no way disparaging any business or organization that chooses to continue to hold their races in a safe manner. Everybody stay safe and keep flying! We look forward to seeing your "Q-DVR" (quarantine dvr) uploads while we await more information about the current situation. We will make a post here when we will be resuming our events!

Sorry for the delay! Congratulations to the winners of Monday night's race at The Venue! Lamp took home first place, with Trim a hairs width behind him in 2nd! We also had a newcomer to the podium in Skenny Gee, who rounded out the top 3 for the first time! Thank you to everybody who came out to fly with us and made it another awesome night in Denver!
