Lifeways Christmas Peer Party tomorrow

The Lifeways Thanksgiving Peer Party! I was handed a list the day before that had requests of what to play for the party. I spent a few hours getting the playlist ready and everybody seemed to like it! We had all the fixings with ham, mashed potatoes with gravy and stuffing! We had a blast and thanks to Lifeways for putting this on.

What a blast! The Peer Halloween Party yesterday was loads of fun. Chili was on the menu and chilly it was outside. Here's the Best Costume winner as Michael Myers from the Halloween movie franchise.

I was at the Saturday Market today and was blessed to DJ for the Market crowd for 2 hours. A family from Arizona sat down to eat in the gazebo. I moved my speaker so all 8 of them could sit to eat. I asked where they were from. They said Arizona and then I asked why they were in Oregon and they said for their Grandfather's funeral. He had passed away at the young age of 95. I was touched that they came all the way from Arizona, but they were very happy to be where their Grandfather had grown up and lived to celebrate his life. So for the next 30 minutes I took song requests from them like Hey Jude by the Beatles. I could tell they were feeling very solemn so I tried to honor that and play some uplifting yet somber music. The gentleman was very happy with the song selections and even tipped me! I don't get to do that very often.

Had fun DJing the Saturday Market today! I thought it would be too hot but there was a cool breeze in the gazebo. I love meeting new people here as some people like to talk to the DJ for some reason. What did we talk about? You guessed it, MUSIC! These people inspire me to find new music to share with others.

I got a Rising Creator badge from Facebook! I am not sure how they figure these things out but thanks to you guys for your support! Lifeways will have a Valentine's Day party on February 14th I believe from 11 AM to 1 PM. It should be at the Peer Center and I will be there with some tunes.

So...there's this new DJ controller I've been eyeing from Pioneer. It will be the first DJ Controller that works with smartphones. I usually use my smartphone to DJ with because I can DJ without wifi. As a mobile DJ this is incredibly important to have access to Amazon Music or Spotify. I try to stay clear of Youtube because of ads but I could upgrade my Youtube and be ad free but is a monthly subscription fee. Super excited about this DJ controller!

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas! We had a great time at the Lifeways Christmas Dinner last Friday. 3 glorious hours of pure Christmas music bliss! Thanks to Lifeways for putting this on. I can assure you that everyone had a great time and full bellies all round!

We had a great Thanksgiving get together at the Ontario Memorial Veterans Hall November 21st! I am glad Lifeways picked this spot to have a dinner because of how many people showed. Free food, right? And thanksgiving for all we have and eachother. We jammed out to some new/newish pop tunes. I'd like to see a dance at this venue in the future.

The Lifeways Drop-In Halloween 2022 party was a great success! I was lucky enough to DJ and we had a blast. About 40 people attended. We need a bigger space and lets hope that will be something that will happen in the future! Early Happy Halloween!
