A regular request has come from those who have moved to Devon or Somerset and find an ancient AGA in the kitchen and they don't know what or how to cook on it??? 🎄Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays from myself and the team!
This year has been a bit of a mixed bag, from the busiest Summer ever with lots of wonderful new and regular clients to a few unplanned months off post op for me. But all in all we have had a fabulous year and look forward to a super 2025.
As you know I couldn’t do it at all without my trustworthy suppliers, stunning venues and clients.
My amazing, hardworking and fabulous team are the best!
A huge thank you to you all and especially those working twixt Christmas and the New Year! 🥂

🎄The Christmas wreath is up!🎄
Every year i say I’ll go to a gorgeous worshop and every year I fail, but maybe 2025 is the year!
I do thoroughly enjoy foraging and making a wreath (whatever it looks like) before the ‘children’ come home for Christmas.
This year I’ve added pictures of the last 5 to have donned our door.

🎄 Ok, ok I know it’s only November but we are thinking about that time of year again!
We have had a flurry of December enquiries and I want to make sure that we can help create a magical festive feast for as many people as the team can cook for.
So in the spirit of being helpful we have some early and mid December dates available and: 28th, 30th, 31st December.

🍅My Quick and Simple Sunshine Tomato Sauce recipe 🍅

(Don’t forget to save it for later 😊🧑‍🍳)

Hello, hello it’s been a while since I shared a recipe so here we go. . .
It’s a dank Monday afternoon here and
I have 3 punnets of fresh cherry tomatoes left over from the weekend, so I’ve made a yummy pasta sauce for tonight and several pots that are now cooling, ready for the freezer.

Here is my recipe:
1 chopped onion
1 minced clove of garlic
3 punnets of cherry tomatoes
A handful of olives 🫒 ( or capers)
1 handful of Fresh or dried green herbs such as basil, marjoram, thyme, mint, rosemary, 1 bay leaf
A tablespoon of honey or 1 tablespoon of sugar ( optional)
If you have it lurking in your fridge, like I do: a parmesan rind for extra flavour

Method
Take a heavy based lidded pan:
Add 2 tabs extra virgin olive oil
Soften the onion and garlic
Add the tomatoes
Herbs, olives, Parmesan rind
Salt and pepper
And sugar/ honey if using
Pop the lid on the pan and simmer until the tomatoes are soft
If the sauce looks like it’s drying out add 1/4 cup of water
Blitz everything until smooth and serve 🥘 🍅 🌿
(if the cheese rind is still hard remove it first, otherwise there might be a tomato explosion in the kitchen!)

This sauce is really adaptable: lovely with pasta, chicken, add to a bolognaise or veggie lasagne base.

My feet, hands, head and chefs apron have barely touched the ground since May!🧑‍🍳
I’m so thankful and grateful for your enormous support and entrusting us with the catering for your special occasions. The feedback has been insane and I’ve failed miserably to photograph most of the food that we have loved cooking for you. The team has grown and my linchpins have blossomed this year. New chefs, waiters, waitresses and bar staff - you rock and make this little business the success it is! Thank you 🤩

On a personal note I’m taking a much needed sabbatical and will be back on the grid and in your kitchens in about 6 weeks, when I’m back to full fitness. Please share this post for me.

I leave you in capable hands. The team is strong and busy.
Last year we were fully booked for November and December - and we’re offering New Year’s Eve delivery and catered dinner again this year, so make sure you email ASAP to book me in! 🎉

What an absolute pleasure it was to cater for this party. A personal highlight was that the group had never booked caterers before and found the whole experience so brilliant that they will do it again! 🤗 🙏

Gorgeous Summery fresh foods being served all over Devon and Somerset this weekend! A shout out to my super new chef, fabulous team and we had a training night for a new waiter, you’re all amazing and I’m so fortunate to have you work with me this very busy Summer!
