A couple of weeks ago I spent the day withJennifer and Matthew, filming their wedding. It was the first wedding I’d filmed since December, and what a beautiful event it turned out to be! Congratulations Jennifer and Matt!
And hats off to a few of the folks on the remarkable wedding team—who helped make it one spectacular kind of day.

This past spring Amanda, who has been my paralegal for the last 5 years, asked me to officiate her wedding. I was truly honored to be asked, and-in what can only be described as a moment of temporary insanity-I also volunteered to video the entire wedding as well. It was quite a sight—me running around with a gimbal in shorts and a t-shirt, changing into a suit less than 10 minutes before the ceremony began. Not sure that’s something I’d ever try to pull off again, but loved being able to be a part of this ceremony and to capture a little of the magic of their day at the same time. Congratulations to Jeff and Amanda! And special thanks to Diana Deaver and Tony Morgan for some incredible 2nd shooting!

Why a wedding video?

The fact is that some of the most emotional parts of the day simply can’t be photographed—your spouse gazing into your eyes in front of friends and family, reciting his or her vows...the speeches and toasts at the reception...the uncle’s corney joke...your father’s tears when he dances with you at the reception...the groom’s reaction as you make your way down the aisle. A wedding video will give you the opportunity to relive those moments again and again. The bottom line is there are simply way too many intimate moments of your wedding day that are too rare and too sweet not to capture on video.

Meet the Man Behind the Camera

Of all the things I could be doing on a weekend, why do I often find myself behind the lens of a video camera? Because nothing compares to capturing special moments, and then bringing those moments back to life through film.

It has been almost 50 years since I first picked up my Dad’s 8 mm Kodak Brownie camera. And while much has happened over the years, my love affair with filmmaking has never faded. I am profoundly drawn to crafting imaginative, story-driven films that capture, in a few minutes, the magic of a day and the love of a life time.
