Had so much fun last week at the Nightvision night at cab vol.
Absolute scenes at Resist yesterday night
I am so happy to see my debut EP, Response to the Techno Crisis, out on Diffuse Reality Records - after months of obsessing about every detail, such as whether hats should be panned 11% or 12% to the left ;] Diffuse Reality is a label close to my heart, with a collection of releases spanning from ambient to techno. Many of my 'weirder' tracks come from DR, and I am very happy to now see my tracks amongst their other releases.
Most of my life, when artists spoke about inspiration, I thought they do so to sound cool and edgy :) Until I got inspired myself. The musical idea for this EP took 4 days to lay, all after a sick Pulse Edinburgh night in October 2021 (with Boris). I went out, and then spent a week alone in an Inverness forest - and this is the outcome. Tracks One and Five have Inverness sampled in them :)
The funny thing is, I am a much better producer today than even 6 months ago. But to make this EP better, I'd have to completely destroy it, and then, sort of, reassemble it, and I don't want to. When I listen to these tracks, my mind takes me to the corner of the main room in The Mash House , or to the tall and slightly scary Inverness forests. Therefore, the EP is perfect even if it's not.
Big love to Diffuse Reality for their constant support! And also to many other people along the way who have supported me, listened to these tracks in their previous iterations. There are so many people it's impossible to mention them all. But I do know about you:)) Will name the three collectives that have played such a big role in my development as an artist: EPIKA , Sisu and female:pressure - but there is more!
The link to EP is in my bio :)

Having fun recording my next guest mix ;)
Catch me this Friday + 2h set The Mash House for EPIKA
Preparing some promo material for our next EPIKA CiRCLE night i found this video of me playing at The Mash House this August. The sound is not great, but the energy from the crowd is clearly detectable. Can't wait to play there again in December :)
The track is SC-164 - Telegraph
Nearly a month ago I took a week of work to focus on music production, and most of this time was dedicated to streamlining my workflow rather than actually making music. Or that's what I thought :) in the process of making instrument racks and re-arranging samples I have made so many half-tracks that they will for sure form an EP :))) or two! I now have neatly-organised tools that no longer get in the way of my creativity. This not only makes things quicker and easier, but also makes 'my sound' more mine, because I spent time thinking on what my sound is, and why, and I can feel the difference.
So, producers, do spend some time on boring stuff - it helps, and it's not that boring after all.
Playing a few gigs in the coming weeks - at Sneaky Pete's, EPIKA CiRCLE and the Pulse Edinburgh Warehouse night, and am really looking forward to hearing some of my creations from some big speakers :)))
And here is a video from the night :) more on instagram :) Big thanks to the dancers for creating this incredible atmosphere, to The Mash House for being great, to EPIKA for making these nights happen and to my fellow DJs VRGN DarkAli Penstkart Malissa and naafi for always delivering :) I was gutted that vnc.ptk was unable to do her visual magic, but am looking forward to the next ciRCLE night to seeher performance 😍😍😍
And this is a short bit of the track I made for Paradise Palms Records, and a short video of a Palermo stray cat :)
