DKO Boxing’s William Foster dared to be great last night and after 10 rounds came up short on the cards against Eridson Garcia.

William had an amazing camp and great guidance throughout in preparation for the bout. He didn’t leave any stone unturned.

Sometimes it just isn’t your night.

In order to succeed and be great in this sport one has to be willing to step up in order to take his career to the next level.

There are way too many fighters whose careers are misguided by trainers and advisors who are more concerned about themselves and their own reputation than the fighters that they work with.

There are trainers and advisors who are content being the big fish in a small pond so their small circle of followers think they are smarter than they really are.

There are trainers and advisors that kill the careers of the fighters they work with because they are afraid a loss will make them look bad.

There are trainers and advisors who kill their fighters careers by pricing their fighters out of opportunities for their own personal economic benefit than that of their fighters.

There are trainers and advisors who are more worried about bleeding the fighters they work with for every cent they can than advancing their careers.

There are trainers and advisors out their that don’t even tell their fighters about opportunities they are presented with, fighters they represent and work with, and the fighter ends up missing out on potential opportunities because a fight might fall on a date that isn’t convenient for them, regardless of how good the opportunity is for their fighter.

There are trainers and advisors out there who literally do nothing for the fighters they represent but have to be the one to present everything to the fighters and the fighters families to misrepresent it as though they did it.

There are trainers and advisors that never reach into their pockets but act as though they did when others actually did it to make things happen.

There are trainers and advisors that believe the world revolves around them when the boxing world as a whole considers them a complete joke and want no parts of dealing with them. The boxing world knows they have used good people in the past and will continue to do so in their narcissistic ways. Which in turn leads their fighters to never advancing beyond their little cocoon of one sided regional fights that do not advance a fighters career but makes said trainers and advisors some money which is all it is about to them.

There are some trainers and advisors who live in the past and don’t realize the game has changed in the last 20 years but are stuck in a time lapse.

There are trainers and advisors who simply aren’t nearly as good or respected in the game outside of their small circle, they blame everything including their own failed careers and never have accountability when things don’t go their way. It's always someone else's fault even if they made the decision that didn't go their way.

Boxing is a dangerous game that can be beautiful. It should always be about the warriors who lay it all out on the line for themselves and their families and not at all about the people who work for the fighter.

Sometimes a fighter decides that they have gone as far as they can with certain trainers and advisors and move in a different direction to proceed with their career. This has been happening for years in boxing. Sadly certain trainers and advisors secretly and quietly sit back hoping to see their former charge, one they claim to have cared so much about and once considered as family, come up short. Said trainers and advisors have their small circle of members of their little cult and their family openly gloat and make disparaging comments on social media. They stroke their egos when in the eyes of the boxing world it further solidifies their reputation as a joke.

There are trainers and advisors who are career killers and are more worried about protecting themselves and their reputations than advancing their fighters. They control everything from what the fighters eat, who the fighters talk to, what the fighters say, control the fighters social media, give the fighters grief if the fighter doesn’t mention or “tag” them - in an interview or post. They want to control every aspect of the fighter like a little child more than advance the fighter's career.

Congrats to William Foster and his team for being willing to be that guy who wants to be great.

A loss is only a loss when you don’t learn from it. When a fighter learns from it then it is a lesson. Lessons learned lead to greatness and are what ultimately advance a fighters career. Being a pro and having accountability is what takes a career to the next level.

There are certain trainers and advisors who have no connections outside of their 30 mile region, have never displayed accountability, one’s who create narratives to benefit themselves and are more worried about that than the careers of their fighters.

It’s not about the setback, it’s all about the get back and DKO Boxing is proud of William Foster and his team and can’t wait for what is ahead.

We also congratulate Eridson Garcia on a hard fought decision victory last night.

In closing, thank you to the vast majority of friends, fans and family who have always and will continue to support William in his quest to a world title! We also would like to thank the very very small minority of haters who once portrayed themselves as family and supporters of William. The same haters who now hide behind closed doors - deflecting - as their dwindling cult like following continues to stagnate, and instructing their keyboard warrior family members in spreading their malicious and misguided message to their small and deceived audience.

Boxing at its best!

We would like to give a heartfelt shoutout to Julio Sanchez as the head trainer of Bruce Seldon for all he did to prep Bruce for his pro debut.

A former pro and decorated amateur Sanchez imparted his years of knowledge and wisdom to help Bruce prepare both physically and mentally for his leap into the paid ranks. A pro debut is always an exciting and demanding time, but much more so for a guy entering the squared circle without the benefit of an amateur career.

Sanchez’ work at the storied Pleasantville Rec Center alongside trusted and respected trainer Daniel Soto helped make Bruce’s entry into the pro ranks seamless.

Watching Bruce’s growth and development has been a pleasure and DKO Boxing is excited for what is ahead for the young heavyweight.

This is being posted knowing that Coach Julio and Coach Daniel may be uncomfortable because these coaches are truly about the fighter and putting the fighter first and not worried about being in a pic or tagged in a post, which is how it should be. It is truly refreshing with so many trainers who feel they are bigger than the fighters they train. We just wanted to be sure these guys get the credit and respect they deserve because they would never seek it out on their own.

Great job Coach Julio and Coach Daniel. This is just the beginning and we are excited for what is ahead for Bruce as his career progresses!

DKO Boxing’s World Rated William Foster will be squaring off with Eridson Garcia in a 130 pound battle on July 6th from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ as a Special Attraction on the Shakur Stevenson - Artem Harutyunyan card.

The fast rising Foster 17-1 looks to add another notable name to his already impressive ledger which includes victories over: Sulaiman Segawa, Donald Smith, Edwin De Los Santos, Avery Sparrow and Misael Lopez to name a few.

Congrats to Gabriel Jose Maestre Perez who went toe to toe for 12 hard fought and exciting rounds against Eimantas Stanionis for Stanionis’ WBA Welterweight World Championship.

The two battled it out at the T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas on the Canelo Alvarez - Jamie Munguia card.

El Capitan Maestre threw over 800 punches over the course of this 12 round contest before it went to the cards and Stanionis retained his title.

Congrats to Stanionis and congrats to Gabriel for on putting on an entertaining 12 round battle.

Gabriel will be back to work his way towards another title shot and you won’t want to miss it!
