I just updated a blog post from my website and WOW have i had so much perspective shift. This was an amazing reflection on what I used to focus on then, and where my heart is now.

Creativity, uniqueness, and making my couples feel like their film is an authentic representation of their love story are the keystones of why I do this.

First planning tip of 2024-- booking your videographer! If you're newly engaged, I'm sure everyone is throwing their advice at you a mile a minute, but hear me out! With the growing popularity of video, booking your videographer should be one of the first steps you take on your planning journey. When the food has been eaten and the band has packed up, working with a videographer that can capture the magic of your day for you to watch for decades to come is something you'll want to prioritize (said with love🫶🏻)

• I got stuck on a cruise ship during covid🛳️ (would not recommend)

hi divas🫶🏻

it’s been quiet on my end this fall and I wanted to show my face! i’ve been all over the country capturing some amazing wedding days, and spending my weekdays preparing, emailing, editing, offloading, archiving, organizing, and resting to make sure i’m in the *best* place for your wedding day!

summer into fall felt like a huge shift in my perspective, like I literally feel like something in my brain shifted because i’m seeing wedding days in a way that is exciting, refreshing, and kind of slower too? like taking the time to feel and be present with you in order to capture moments that feel true and honest have become one of my biggest priorities this season, and it feels *so* right.

the fall is the busiest time of year for us wedding pros, and i’m being extra mindful of burnout this year because i want to bring everything i have to your special day🥹 being intentional about work *and* rest is something i’ve never been good at, and what i’m taking time to implement this year.

after every wedding this year, i’ve gotten into my car and said to myself “that’s my favorite wedding ever”— and i mean it! my clients have been the BEST part of my job, and the vendors i’ve worked alongside have made my job fun and creative and badass and hilarious all in the best ways.

i’m wrapping up my season soon (other than a NYE blowout wedding that is going to be fire👀) and i can’t wait to cozy up, celebrate the holidays, visit the mountains, cook + eat good food, and let my gear collect some dust😌

there are so many projects I’m delivering over the next few days and weeks and to my couples who have shown me grace and patience while i craft your films— y’all are the best🫶🏻

My favorite piece of wedding advice I have to offer about one of the most controversial parts of a wedding day👀 I always encourage my couples to go with the option that feels most true to them, because that speaks truth into their film. There’s no rule book on weddings and DEFINITELY not a rule book on wedding toasts, and my best advice is for you to choose a speaker (or speakers) who will share what is most thoughtful and heartfelt for your day— hope this helps, love u 🫶🏻

Crafting a brand elevation over the last year and a half has felt like so much more than changing the visual identity of my business.

The past 18 months have been some of the most challenging I’ve ever experienced, and with that came what I’ve called a “softening”. A slow breaking down of walls, expectations, and mountains I was carrying on my shoulders that were meant for me to climb.

I’ve realized that who I am is much softer and sensitive than I had led on, and if you’re one of my couples you know this because you probably see me crying at your wedding🥹

This rebrand feels vulnerable and scary but so exciting. I’m proud of myself for taking the next step on this crazy journey, and for those of you that have been there along the way— past and current couples, vendor besties, creatives, and friends— y’all are everything to me and are why I have something so special to share.

ATTN LOVERS🗣

What's my biggest piece of wedding planning advice? PRIORITIZE YOUR WEDDING VIDEO!!

Now I know this probably seems like a given coming from me, but I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here!

The number of times I've heard "oh we'll just have someone video it on their iphone" turn into "our biggest regret is not having a videographer" is actually mind-boggling. And in a day and age where video is the most consumed form of media, it's crazy that video isn't always at the top of the priority list.

And for real-- I get it! There is so much that goes into planning and everyone has budgets that they have to stick to, but I also know that there are things that can be moved around to make your wedding video a priority.

I'm not here to tell you how to spend your money because everyone's priorities are different. But at the end of the day when the food has been eaten, the flowers have died, and the band has packed away, there's very few things that you get to take with you to remember your day with you, so why not put those things at the top of your list?

Life has felt a little like this lately, but I’m learning to let go of feeling like I always have to have it together. I can be a control freak sometimes, and letting go of control is scary. But mawma, the universe has her own plans, so I’m letting go a little bit and see what life has to offer me when I keep an open heart.

But for REAL has anyone else felt like this summer has been insane ???? 🥲
