Good Evening and Blessings Meeks Family! We just want to take a moment and wish all relatives born in July a Happy Happy Birthday! Those celebrating anniversaries or any other special occasions, we wish you well. We are officially 10 days away from the 40th Meeks Family Reunion Florida 2023 taking place July 21-23 in Orlando, Florida. The planning committee has been working very diligently in preparation of this event. We are all looking forward to reuniting with family members and taking in best of what Orlando has to offer. As the time nears, we encourage all family members to make sure you have paid correct amount of dues and completed needed forms. This is essential as we finalize numbers and want everyone who has paid to be accounted for. We will continue to work as we finish planning a tradition that we've been blessed to continue for 40 years. Good Evenng Meeks and blessings to you all. The countdown continues as we are 131 days away from the 40th Meeks Family Reunion Florida 2023! As we prepare to travel this summer, we wanted to share some travel tips to maximize your travel experience. Please see previous post for all hotel and registration information.
Travel Tips:
1) If you're flying, try to book an early morning flight as they tend to be less crowded and aren't as likely to be delayed during takeoff or landing.
2) Make a packing list of all items you have packed and are taking with you. Put one in your luggage as a checklist when you return. This is to ensure you return with all items you took with you.
3) Notify your bank that you are traveling. Banks will lock your card or freeze your account when they see unusual transactions outside your normal zip code.
4) Be sure to wear comfortable clothes when traveling. Wearing compression socks can help prevent feet from swelling.
5) When traveling with kids, be sure to pack their favorite snacks as this will help to cut costs.
6) Plan ahead. Book flights, hotels, and rental car reservations as far in advance as possible to get the best rates.

There you will find contact information to make hotel reservations as well. Don't forget to let them know you are with the Meeks Family reunion to get the discounted rate. All registration forms and dues can be mailed to P.O. Box 6598 Alexandria, LA 71307. Deadline to pay dues is JUNE 18th, so please don't delay. We have a set rotation of cities that host reunions. Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, New Orleans. Every now and then we go off course, 1996 in California, 2008 in Atlanta, 2020 in DC, and 2023 in Florida.
