Mōrena.
Reliable Recordings is the Auckland-based label that helped soundtrack Aotearoa New Zealand's house music explosion.
It provided a platform for the first wave of Kiwi producers and released a string of instant classics, including Reactor Music's Calibre '98, Cuffy & Leon D's 19c Trumpet and Subware's Disco Hoopla.
Over the past few weeks, Reliable has been celebrating the first ever digital release of its catalogue. Every track is available to stream and/or download from the usual sites (check them out here: https://linktr.ee/reliablerecordings).
This isn't just a nostalgia exercise, though. We're relaunching the label as Unreliable and want to hear from producers old and new with music to release.
Tonight we celebrate the first phase of our comeback with a very special gig at Ink. Showcasing some of those pioneering talents, Disco Hoopla is headlined by a very special reunion performance from Subware. Also playing, Cuffy & Leon D, Phully, Sandy Mill and Chris Reed.
Ngā mihi nui to Auckland City of Music for their support.
Over the past few weeks we've shared a series of videos featuring Reliable alumni and some special guests revealing their favourite Reliable track.
Today's offering is from one half of Subware and DJ legend, Jason "Rockpig" Hall.
There are a few advance tickets for tonight left - check out: https://www.eventbrite.co.nz/.../disco-hoopla-tickets...
Thanks for reading. Thanks for dancing.
