14 years ago we lived a crazy wild night of music at Le Palais and over time we were searching for these musicians without success - A couple days back I walked by without high hopes but there he was... the legend Fofana, from Fofana and the Kikendo!
Sacrifice for elevation. Shabaka Hutchings played his last concert on saxophone last night in Hackney Church in London, bringing his interpretation of Coltrane's legendary album: A Love Supreme. He has decided to leave the sax on the side, a "sacrifice to elevate my art", so he can focus on the his next path which involves the art of the flute. His words were inspirational... at times we need to sacrifice and leave behind parts of our life to elevate ourselves.
The concert was memorable, emotional and spiritual. With his two bass players, 4 drummers and a guitarist, the music sounded out of this world - infusing free and spiritual jazz into the main themes from Coltrane's A Love Supreme. You could feel the audience was captivated and in trance at times. This will remain an unforgettable moment in my jazzy life.
Big thanks to the artists and to Sophie for making this happen. Can't wait to see what new art Shabaka will bring.

Playing on vinyl makes a world of difference. Dancers and listeners have an open ear for the music, for the carefully selected tracks and the fil rouge; Even more, an ear for rarity and vibe. I’m looking forward to Thursday at and its open-minded crowd. It will start jazzy as always, with some rare founds, then we’ll explore rhythms from around the world before infusing some disco and house for the dancers. Looking forward to seeing you all 🚀🪐🔥

finally unveils his double EP with everything beyond expectations, and they were high. I always love music composed by musicians on drums. Seems like I have been waiting for this one since I saw him live at Jazzeux back in the days. Spiritual, soothing, diverse, happy, fast and elevating. No more words, I really recommend this one, listen up.

Fly or Die
((world war))
I've been listening to jaimie's last album on repeat since Saturday. It's grandiose, rebellious and although the bang title I found it hopeful and enlightening. The album brings the spirit from the first two fly or die albums and the sound has evolved - even more banging words and singing, and creative playing with sounds. The trumpet notes and her voice bring back so many memories from backstage at Flagey and Bozar. It would have loved her to play this one live and engage the crowd as she always did.
The inside note from the band and her sis brought smiles and tears.
jaimie and her music, always on my mind and in my heart.
