And one day you will realize that there are no endless runs through the corridors, no laughter in bed to challenge sleep; no stories for those who can't read, no sheets to cover at midnight, no souls breathing dreams...
And one day you will understand that the pantry is full of memories and that there are dishes left over at the table; and that everything is in order... no backpacks on the hall floor, no messy pencils. Not even those clothes that don't fit in the hamper and the beds don't get unmade...
And one day... you will be an orphan of your children raised with the permission of life. And you will sit in the armchair, wise in the book who misses an innocent voice that interrupts him. And every
