π₯ Embracing Wisdom: Lessons from one of My Jiu Jitsu Coaches π‘
After an Jiu Jitsu class today, I felt compelled to share the philosophy my coach imparted at the end. The concept of "being cool.β
"Being coolβ goes beyond the physical techniques; it's a mindset that resonates deeply with me and extends far beyond the mats.
In Jiu Jitsu, "being cool" means finding inner peace, letting go of desires for quick wins, and facing challenges fearlessly.
It's about understanding your opponent and building authentic connections, both on and off the mats. The power of composure empowers us to navigate through even the most intense situations with grace.
But this philosophy doesn't end at Jiu Jitsu β it translates seemlesly to other aspects of life, including the profession of sales.
π Embrace the Journey: Success in sales comes not from seeking instant gratification but from patiently mastering the basics and building a solid foundation.
πͺ Fearless in the Face of Challenges: Just as I approach Jiu Jitsu obstacles fearlessly, I tackle sales challenges with courage, seeing them as opportunities to grow.
π€ Authentic Connections: Empathy and authenticity create strong connections with clients, just as they do with my training partners.
π Composure is Key: Staying composed allows me to approach negotiations and client interactions with clarity and confidence.
I owe this incredible insight to Coach Lawson McClure, one of my inspiring Jiu Jitsu coaches, whose wisdom reaches far beyond the art of self-defense.
So, here's to embracing the philosophy of "being cool" in both Jiu Jitsu and sales β a journey of growth, resilience, and authenticity. Let's approach life's challenges and opportunities with the same calm and collected mindset. π₯π
